Sony's shrink will be easier because they don't have to fit ESRAM on the chip. Manufacturing will be easier and less chances of damaged chips!

Or maybe Xbone is going the iPhone route. Make an upgraded Xbone every year or so with games that can play on lower models.

If anything though, the hypervisor will only allow the same specs for games on both and the faster Xbone will have a faster UI, apps and TV

MS are never ever going to change the performance for the XB1 (hardware obviously). Would cause way too many problems.

Nintendo seems to have gotten away with it with the New 3DS, so it's theoretically possible for Microsoft to give it a performance upgrade, though I think it's very unlikely.
