Forums - Gaming - Man buys a 'heavy' PlayStation 4 bundle from Denver Walmart and finds only bags of rocks

This has happened a number of times specifically AT walmart. If walmart would just make a policy to check and open every returned console this would never happen and those jerks would never get away with this. As well this way if anybody does return their console claiming it was full of rocks then it would definitely not be walmarts responsibility.

So wait... that PS4 box was returned? So the clerks didn't even checked the content of the box when it was returned or when they were selling it to the customer? o_O

They are supposed to check something when it's being returned to make sure it's all there. I could see a clerk being lazy and not check it during a return rush.

just don't get it. people these day's.

Didn't know Sony's supply issues were so severe.

I imagine for someone purchasing an Xbox One this would be a rather pleasant turn of events.

I don't believe him. Now he probably has 2 PS4's.

Was thinking the same thing.  Someone did this a few years ago at Circuit City (I believe that was the store.)  The guy brought back a PC he had just purchased and said when he opened it there was nothing but potatoes inside.  So, the employee exchanged it.  I believe the same day, maybe the next, he brought the new PC box back and said the same thing happened, nothing but potatoes.  Now, I can't remember if he tried it a 3rd time and they got him then, or if the manager, once he was told, got a fishy feeling and just called the police.  Either way, the police found there way to his house, where they found two brand new PCs.  I think he got some jail time and the employee who kept accepting the returns got fired.

I've worked retail for years, this is highly possible.

I have seen a connections center at Walmart have 3 straight phones that were supposed to be high dollar Galaxy phones turn out to be worthless dummy display phones. That was either theft in the store or theft at the supplier.

This one is either theft at the store or incompetence. Whoever took the return originally was either in on the scam or just lazy/shitty at his/her job.

"mystery meat" What on earth could that have been?

Don't the retailers open every box to sign and stamp the warranty card?
I mean, I don't know how it is in the US, but in Croatia they must do it, to ensure the contents are there and to attach proof of purchase to the service list/warranty card.

No, not in the US.
