Forums - Gaming - Why isn't there a Christmas game?

Like, shouldn't there be one?

It doesn't have to be about Christmas, just take place during Christmas.
I mean, the iconic idea would be something tragic happening concurrently.

Zombies, nuclear attack, etc.

I feel like this is something that's never really been used...for that matter, any holiday really...just that christmas is so universal even for non-christians. Hell there are like 15 gods born on christmas anyway.

Also, I'm well aware of the indie games, like the one about santa's workshop. I mean a AAA christmas-time game. I would probably play it every year.

especially a silent hill game

Well, I hear that GTA V is doing a Christmas themed snow thing and there are mods that can make games Christmas themed like my girls can swear a Christmas outfit in schoolmate! But apart from that, idk, a full fledged game about Christmas could be interesting if they put some effort into it

What about Christmas Nights into Dreams for the Sega Saturn

A lot of MMOs have Christmas/Winter themed events (I think) if that counts

There's a Die Hard game on NES. That's something.

Arkham Origins? Christmas is a great setting, there should be more.

Doesn't have to be a whole game but I think all games that are releasing in the holidays should have a Christmas level included.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

i have often had this same thought. i first thought it years ago when i got out my xmas movies and thought there really is a big opportunity here for someone to make a true classic. if i were ever to make a game i'd be xmas themed.

...but i disagree about the "any holiday" bit though. there are a lot of halloween themed games.
