I should probably try and say this in a nicer way but I really can't bring myself to do so.
This prediction is absolutely ludicrous, there is no way that this is going to happen.

2.) 20% on top of 2m in a market like Europe is still pretty huge. And to sell ~2.5m in Europe alone ALOT of Xbox's will have to be sold. 3.) Not in most European markets... 4.) Whataya mean real sim fans? Forza is a better racing sim...the reviews don't lie. 6.) I didn't say every game..but a few massive exclusives |
Just one thing : Forza 5, so-called simulation without qualifications, pit crew, day/night cycle, dynamic weather effects, Suzuka and other important details, earned a poor Metascore.
This is a very limited and incomplete vision of racing.
This franchise is resting on its laurels since the seconde episode. Still lack of effective innovation.
The experience proposed by the lastest iteration of Gran Turismo is far more richer and exhaustive, and yet, this is just a PS3 game.
Turn10 is a team of talented people, but the problem is that since ten years, they always choose the easy way out.

A little perspective goes a long way... VGC: GT - 10.95m GT2 - 9.49m GT3 - 14.98m (the most bundled in the franchise) GT4 - 11.66m GT5 - 10.52m GT6 - 3m (released next to the launch of a new console) *Polyphony Sales Figures (as of Mar 2013):
Outside of the anomaly, GT6, the series has been a consistent seller of 9-11 million. |
I'm sure GT6 is undertracked
PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m
Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

You mean "only in the UK" because that's the only place where Sony even need to compete.

He has made some very bold predictions. I would be happy if they came true. |
2014 so far:
PS4 12.14m
XB1 6.37m
That's practically 2:1...
"I wonder if he is getting inside information." - Wat. No, he is just posting a blatantly obviously wrong prediction to win an imaginary contest.

Bold: Well if reviews don't lie you'd have to say GT6 was better than Forza 5. If you only want to match up numbers you'd still have to say GT5 was a lot better than Forza 5. So if the reviews DO sometimes lie, what gives Forza the advantage over the megafranchise Gran Turismo?

So you are saying he is Delusion or possibly under the influence of some killer mushrooms?

No I am saying 2014 was roughly 2:1. In Europe it was much worse though even though PS4 was supply constrained there for the first few months. It's almost 3:1 there.
To be honest it's more likely that he ends up right than OP lol, simply because Europe is an extreme stronghold for Playstation. Even PS3 managed to gain a huge gap over 360 last gen despite launching 18 months later there and being a lot more expensive. MS treats Europe as third grade citizens and thus the reception they get there is appropriate. The only place they try anything is the UK and in the rest of Europe retailers just have XB1 firesales themselves to get rid of stock.
