Makes me wonder if they'd care to throw in an extra character for the PC/3DS/Xbox platforms, I'd love to play as chief/Link/Freeman if they actually went therer but it seems only one platform is getting that ezxtra special treatment which is a bit of a shame for fans on all the other platforms.

It's not up do Yacht Club. Sony platforms are getting special treatment because Sony was forward thinking enough to grant them use of their IP. Yacht Club is getting special treatment, not Sony. It's up to Nintendo, Microsoft, and Valve to let them use Link, Master Cheif, and Gordan Freeman.

Well, Nintendo got almost a year of exclusivity and Yacht Club has been vocal sometimes about how Nintendo helped them and gave them space in their eShop front page.

Also, i remember a thread of people complaining about Nintendo throwing their characters everywhere (Rayman, Bayonetta and etc). Maybe Nintendo thought they should hold back a little with that.

DLC? This isn't a retro game anymore now! :P

I'm not saying that that's not the case, but none of that compares to allowing an indie studio use of one of your flagship, multimillion dollar, AAA IPs. I think the amount of people who think Nintendo has been throwing their characters around too much are a loud minority and honestly, none of that is comparable to what is being done with Shovel Knight. Shovel Knight's use of Kratos is almost assuredly free of licencing fees for Yacht Club. There's no way Sega and Nintendo didn't have a financial agreement about the Nintendo DLC, on the other hand.

Sony has been seriously killing it with indies for a while. The Kratos thing is definitely special. I'd love to see Nintendo match and surpass Sony in this aspect, but they are not right now.
