I'm not saying that that's not the case, but none of that compares to allowing an indie studio use of one of your flagship, multimillion dollar, AAA IPs. I think the amount of people who think Nintendo has been throwing their characters around too much are a loud minority and honestly, none of that is comparable to what is being done with Shovel Knight. Shovel Knight's use of Kratos is almost assuredly free of licencing fees for Yacht Club. There's no way Sega and Nintendo didn't have a financial agreement about the Nintendo DLC, on the other hand.
Sony has been seriously killing it with indies for a while. The Kratos thing is definitely special. I'd love to see Nintendo match and surpass Sony in this aspect, but they are not right now.
