Forums - Sony - So I gave in... bought a Vita.

Wal-Mart price matched Gamestop's $169 Vita Borderlands bundle and I gave in! I already have a library thanks to PS+ so that motivated me to get one.

My impressions thus far...
Killzone is pretty fun. Feels a little more like CoD than PS3 Killzone games.
Uncharted ain't bad, but I'm annoyed by use of gestures, touchscreen, etc.
8GB is not enough, those two games basically filled it up. I have numerous other games I want to play eventually.
The device is uncomfortable for fighting games and other games I would use the d-pad on.
PS Now works great, can add great value to the hardware, but the library kinda sucks.

Anyhow, I probably won't use it a ton. But I think it was worth the price I got it for.

Agree here, tis very much a launch game tech demo in places to just show off the ways you can play with the vitas screens but if there is a gun laying on the ground infront of you how hard is it to press a button to pick it up... hate that tech demo'y feel anything more than 1 hour into owning a system.

As for 8gb with psn+ ... absolutely no way is that going to work out for you, you'll wanna install the content manager assistant on your PC right away so you can at least move save files back and forth, remember that with a PSvita if you delete an actual vita game from the system you remove the patchs and save files too, it doesn't happen to psp/psone games on the system just the vita stuff so make sure you either back them up to your PC or else use the PSN cloud save feature by clicking on the + logo on the games home screen.

Vita is very quickly becoming my favourite system for gaming but there are a few little tricks you need to use to get the most out of it.

Took me about a year of gathering PS+ games before I could justify buying one. Back then 16gb memory cards used to cost £40.... now they cost half of that and come with game packs.
As a trophy hunter, well worth it.

I just wish Sony bought MH instead of SF. That game would sell more on vita in japan alone than SF will worldwide on all Sony platforms it releases on.

In a few days i'm giving in too xD Enjoy it!

Killzone is pretty fun. Feels a little more like CoD than PS3 Killzone games.   - Agreed

Uncharted ain't bad, but I'm annoyed by use of gestures, touchscreen, etc.   - Most of that stuff is optional, I believe. I really liked this Uncharted though. You should give it a chance!

8GB is not enough, those two games basically filled it up. I have numerous other games I want to play eventually. - Definitely agree lol. I've only got an 8GB as well. I need to constantly be deleting and reinstalling stuff.

The device is uncomfortable for fighting games and other games I would use the d-pad on. - It's not the best D-pad but it's better than most other handhelds for that.

PS Now works great, can add great value to the hardware, but the library kinda sucks. - PS Now is not even available in my country so there's that

Some recommendations:

Dragon's Crown, Persona 4 Golden, Danganronpa 1-2, Guacamelee!, LBP PS Vita (really good!), Tearaway, Velocity Ultra and 2X, Tales from Space: Mutant Blob Attacks, TxK, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, Lumines, Gravity Rush, Super Stardust Delta, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Soul Sacrifice Delta, Disgaea 4, Wipeout 2048, Muramasa Rebirth

I bought a vita today, too! MediaMarkt sells the Mega Bundle (Vita + 8 GB + 10 Games) for 99€ this week, so I couldn't resist. Kind of a christmas gift for myself, haha :)

I'm highly interested in Persona 4 and a lot of JRPGs. As downloads i would like to play FF7 (wasn't able to play it on TV, because the resolution on the big screens let my head hurt after about half an hour :( ) and Disgaea 1 :)

That's an insane price lol. What were the 10 games?

There's also a Racing Mega Pack, LEGO Mega Pack, Indie Mega Pack and Adventure Mega Pack which all include 8 or 16gb cards floating around. Worth buying just to get the download vouchers for the games if you want a stock up on some decent Vita titles.

Just go to the PSN, find The Legend of Dragoon, buy it, download, and enjoy the best game ever where you please.
PS1 games look good on Vita, if you already have a PS3 and some PS1 games, transfer them to Vita and be happy.

You can also transfer back and forth your ps1 files with a memorycard adapter

I didn't even knew there was a Memory Card adapter :o
But they work properly with the PSN digital version?

Yes, but you have to take care if the save file from the physical copy is the same region like the digital.
