Yep that's the original MGS and the best one imo (Maybe except the gameplay which didn't age so well) The story is easily the most robust and the closest to perfection. If you didn't finish the game or you don't remember enough of it you should definitely go through it again and then pick up the HD collection to follow the series. The series is still pretty awesome but its complex plot and occasional plot holes do cause some controversy. I'm also not a big fan of some of the recurring story elements. The gameplay though is continuously evolving so there will be alot to enjoy. You're missing out! |
I guess! Being a Nintendo console owner does that to you!
But MGS5 will be getting back to pc again, so I have that to look forward to. I do remember the ending pretty well: battling with your "brother"(or clone?) on top of Metal Gear and then some chase scene in cars, I think?
Great game anyway. In my top 5 favorite games ever. I love stealth games, but barely play them for some reason. Probably because Nintendo doesn't make such games. Last stealth game I played was Arkham City (partly stealth anyway), also a great game!
Every colossus in Shadow of the Colossus. (too late of a mention IMO)

Gameplay-wise or visuals?
1) Dom finds his dead wife in Gears of War 2.
2) The grass in Halo CE. I was looking at the ground for about 20 minutes.
3) First time playing online... Moto GP on Xbox Live almost 12 years ago and using a headset that worked online ... on a console!
4) Playing Command & Conquer 3 online
5) The Cutscenes in Fable II and Halo Wars blew me away..
6) Experiencing the lovely world of Zelda Ocarina of Time
7) Finishing Sonic the Hedgehog on Sega Genesis
8) Playing my first real clanmatch on Xbox.
9) Manging my club at Bundesliga Manager Hattrick 1992 (I was 7 back then and already a Dortmund fan)
10) Becoming a Top50 player in Command & Conquer Red Alert 2
11) Losing my sense of time while playing Anno.
12) Fighting in a giant worm in Gears of War
to be continued.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
To me it's probably still the same since I played 15 years ago (and its remake 10 years ago still reamained brillant), the 1st ninja cutscene on Metal Gear Solid, the one wth the corrior full of corpses. Awesome!!
I'm not going to rehash all the awesome UC and MGS scenes (Kudos, Kyle.), so here are these (in no particular order):
Frog opening the mountain with Excalibur in Chrono Trigger.
Sephiroth vs. Angeal vs. Genesis in Crisis Core.
The ending of Darksiders.
The intro to Omega Boost.
Using the Vector Cannon in ZOE2.
The intro to WoW: Rise of the Lich King.
Intro to FFVIII.
Most bad ass may have been at the end of Heavenly Sword and you're fighting the final boss and killing all the minions around you as if they are nothing.
The microwave scene at the end of MGS4 is probably the most memorable for me, though.
Owner of PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Switch, PS Vita, and 3DS
FF7 - Sapphire Weapon getting it's head blown off.
Star Ocean: Time End Of Time ... the plot twist. Weird moment that was.... not really badass but was really well done none the less.
Hmm, pie.
| TruckOSaurus said: Pretty much any cutscene from Devil May Cry 3, so over the top but pure bad ass. Also, I'm surprised that the airplane sequence in UC3 was mentionned by many people but there was no mention of the ship capsizing that was my favorite part. |
Yup I enjoyed the ship part much more. The plane part felt a bit short to me. It was epic. But it was over in a few seconds. The ship part for me was just so tense because you saw the big glass ceiling and all that water slowly breaking it. It really build up the tension while climbing on the damn ceiling
Other badass scenes:
Halo 2: Fighting the scarab and fighting on earth!
God of War 1 + 2: The scope of the levels and the bosses (especially the hydra and the colossus).
Shadow of the Colossus: For obvious reasons!
Dead Space: I just really enjoyed the Zero Gravity boss battle!
Last Of Us: The multiplayer. When you get the upperhand on an enemy it is so awesome and brutal.
Smash!!: Nintendo characters beating each other up? Nothing cooler than that
FF8: Two giant school battling each other while motorcycles are shot from cannons and shot towards the other school and continue to drive on the school? Badass!

Only one mentions gears of war? Guys...
My vote is gow2, cutting arteries to kill the three hearts while standing in blood.
