Fair point. I'm just saying that in this particular instance, he should just let his work speak for himself. Haters are gonna hate no matter what, but if your product turns out to be amazing, then everyone else will see that you're in the right. And imo, that's what really matters.

The "Microsoft guy" resigned after effectively saying "we don't need gamers with shoddy / no internet in the install base for our upcoming platform." Phil Fish is a dickhead for a multitude of reasons (like taking Fez 2 kickstarter funds and walking away, and generally being a huge drama queen attention whore), not just because he lashes out at fans.

It's fine. They didn't respect his autoritah.

Most of his hate seems to stem from being a dick (and drama queen. I'll give you that.) I know why the person resigned.

I'm just saying I dont like condoning people having childish responses and thinking nobody should critisize thier work. This is supposed to be a respected industry, not Deviantart. I'm not saying that this sort of thing is always wrong (I admit I thought Ninty making Cranky Kong diss Gamespot's review of Tropical Freeze, an opinion that will probably just make people think I'm a fanboy) but this could have definitely be handleded better.

Also, the first comment in the article where the reddit user compared it with Splatoon reeked of fanboyism.

Exactly.. He pretty much has every right to say stuff like that! Specially when the gamers he reponds to are that whiny and tedious!
