I can not talk about this issue. I sold my DS because it is not cool anymore.

Nintendo targets all audiences in its games and its price with the game boys and DS

and until the PSP nintendo never had any true competition that had a shot. N-gage and Game gear wear just pathetic attempts at the hand held market

@ weezy i hope u are just jokin around tryin to piss someone off because otherwise what u are sayin is pretty stupid and trolling

I think its because Nintendo are pretty much the pioneers of that market, plus they focus on developing their own GREAT quality games rather, than to add pointless features that do not enhance the fun factor of their handheld. And of course there are more reasons however I find these to be a major factor . What do you guys think?

Buy a Nintendo DS and find out!

I guess saving 5 dollars means ds games will outsell the highest selling PSP game by 7-10 million?

Too high for the casual fan who will buy the shit out of DQ9 for $40 and will outsell any psp game as well.

Good point.  Although, I am not sure DQ9 is casual :)

Nintendo handhelds:

Cheaper to buy the system.
Batteries last longer, and it uses less of them (that was the old style, now it's just longer rechargeable battery life.)
Cheaper to buy the games.
Cheaper to make the games.
Games that appeal to every single market.
Games that are fun for very short bursts AND games that are for very long sessions.

Non-Nintendo handhelds every single time:

More expensive to buy the system.
Batteries don't last as long.
More expensive to buy the games.
More expensive to make the games.
Majority of games cater to a specific "core" base, similar to console games.
Majority of games are similar to console games and not pick-up-and-play oriented.

It started with Tetris. Brain Age and Nintendogs were basically Tetris 2 and 3. Anybody can pick it up and play for just 3 minutes, and that's what they do, and that's why it sells. It doesn't get in the way of my sweet sweet Advance Wars though.

I did, I just wanted to hear your opinions

Because the competition has always forgotten some of the cardinal rules of mobile gaming, like battery life, cost, sturdyness, and games that came be played in short whiles.

The PSP is a great piece of technology, but its design has all kinds of problems. The cover for the memory stick is flimsy, the UMD drive is a terrible idea: Drains battery, is noisy, and doesn't have a memory density advantage over flash memory. The screen is the hardest thing to keep clean since the GBA, and it's made worse by how easy it is to put a finger on it while changing UMDs. The analog knob is terrible. The shoulder buttons don't have a good feel. and all of this is just as bad in the Lite version.

So all that Nintendo has done is to avoid shooting themselves in the foot.
