Together both the PS3 and 360 sold around 170m. I expect both the PS4 and X1 together to sell a similar amount, but the PS4 will obviously sell much more than X1. And with the Wii U doing so poorly, the console market will significantly shrink this gen. 

They are not what? I know they haven't peaked yet, they just hit their 1 year mark. I think they will probably in their 2nd or 3rd full year like most consoles do.

God dammit Mo!!!!!!! I thought u were smarter than this I'm not talking about total sales, this thread is about if they will have sales curves similar to most consoles which is peaking in the 2nd or 3rd full year or will they have extremely late peaks like PS3/360 had?

I don't see xbox one reaching xbox 360 numbers unless Microsoft come up with another Kinect selling type. On the other hand, ps4 might surpass ps3. Ps move didn't have that kind of impact that Wii motion control and Kinect had. Most of the sales were on his own so ps4 can sell on his own as well.

By "more front loaded", do you mean they'll peak in sales sooner? If so then yeah, almost definitely. The PS3 and 360 didn't peak until 2011. Their rise to power was like watching slow-mo footage :p

Yeah I agree with your prediction. PS4 and X1 will peak much sooner. X1 will peak next year provided they permanently drop the price to $349 and then $299 in the holidays. PS4 I think will peak in 2016. And considering this console generation is expected to finish much sooner than the last one, I doubt there is any chance either console will peak towards the end of the generation. 

There's no reason why this gen will be shorter then previous one
