This is more than likely just standard Japanese hyperbole for a slightly humorous effect. I've seen similar statements before.

Shh, NIS are going out of business. Everyone buy their games now to save them.
They've been dying for a while. Witch & Hundred Knight was an un-necessarily large project that still couldn't turn a profit on ~100k copies sold.
They lost a load of staff to Compile Heart a while ago, so presumably this problem isn't new.
And they've also produced a lot of bombas regardless of budget - things like Cross Thesis Paradox did absolutely terribly.
I think, if they were to survive going forward, it's going to be a mixture of Disgaea milking (which they're already doing) and really cheap stuff. Shin Hayarigami turned a nice profit for them, so more stuff like that.
It's a shame. They were a dev studio that produced a lot of quality JRPG's during the PS2 era. They just seem to have completely mismanaged things since then.
I'd be very sad to see them go (most of all because that means NISA might not survive. Although I expect they'd be bought out, there's always a chance they could go down too).
why would it be the ps4's fault if a third party devs game sells badly and the company goes bump?
Surely the sales are depending on the developer getting off their backside and making something people will actually buy..

You've been here long enough to know that bigger user base =/= more sales and that total user base =/= active user base.

Exactly, they could just announce it for vita and im sure it would catch a lot of attention right now. Wondering why they didnt do this for Disgaea D2 or Witch and the Hundred Knights

Don't agree with Disgaea since they make a fair amount of money from double-dipping, but Witch & Hundred Knight and and the roguelike PS3 games (God & Fate Revolution Paradox/Cross Thesis Paradox) should absolutely have been on Vita as well as PS3.
Done what I can to keep them in business. Hope playing D isgaea 6 down the road as well.

Hopefully they'll be fine. Always sad to see a developer go our of business.
