Okay, I was just ignoring 4D Gamer lll's trolling as just being a optimistic poster, but that post is trolling at it's best. It's just meant to be negative. Nothing optimistic about it.

Err Sony is expected to have between 2.5 and 3 billion $ income for the full year 2007 ( they financial year ends in march, they have released 3 quarters so far). So where exactly you are getting that desesperation from ?
By comparison Microsoft made 14 Billion $ in 2007 ( their financial year ended in June
If Microsoft is looking to spend 40 Billion for Yahoo, you would think Sony can spend 1-2 Billion on a studio...
Good, they need it.

Nintendo still doomed?

no they don't, Didn't you see, Sony is the top publisher last year according to review scores.
First party support (although lovely) is the least of Sony's worry
Soriku (Feb 10/08): In 5 years the PS3/360 will be dead.

Something as huge as Take Two woudn't make sense.
It seems to me they do better with smaller studios more focused on a few titles. At least that is the way most of their studios are set up. ( it's easier financially to turn a small studio toward exclusive than a huge one too, the financial loss for turning something like Take Two to PS3 exclusive would be huge, making it not a good acquisition)
I mean GTA back to PS3 exclusive would be a good idea but all the 2k games exclusives probably woudn't be...

Level 5 would be awesome, but I don't think SE would let them get away. Unless Sony makes a deal to have SE publish all DQ games on Sony platforms, keeping Level 5 the developers, but that seems unlikely. |
I didn't realize level 5 was making A Dragon Quest game for the DS. Sony could always allow Level 5 to finish the game for Square Enix. Before this game the Last Dragon Quest looks like it was done in 2005 and Square Enix could always find some one else to make the game for them.
Systems I own (Games)
Sega: Dreamcast (40) , Saturn (25), Genesis (50), Masters System (10), Game Gear (20)
Sony: PS1 (8), PS2 (60) , PS3 (5), PSP (12)
Atari: 2600 (18) , 7800 (10), Lynx (10)

@ makingmusic
I've never heard that Level 5 was making any more DQ games. Besides Sony and L5 have a good relationship. Sony has published every single game they've done on PS2/P.
And Square doesn't own Level 5.
