Sony to buy out a big studio?

Level 5 would be awesome, but I don't think SE would let them get away.  Unless Sony makes a deal to have SE publish all DQ games on Sony platforms, keeping Level 5 the developers, but that seems unlikely.

I didn't realize level 5 was making A Dragon Quest game for the DS. Sony could always allow Level 5 to finish the game for Square Enix. Before this game the Last Dragon Quest looks like it was done in 2005 and Square Enix could always find some one else to make the game for them.
