Forums - Sony - Is Uncharted 4 the generational leap we were hoping for? (DF)

Least this will settle a lot of debates as to whether or not it was downgraded

in the first 3 uncharted drake had a higher quality model in cut scenes then in gameplay. not sure how it can be surprising here that gamplay drake isn't as high quality as cut scene drake in U4. i still expect the original trailer to be representative of the final product during story.

regardless,. the gameplay was fucking amazing. it took all the core ideas of uncharted and expanded them exactly like in my wildest dreams. a bit more open. a better mix of shooting while also platforming and climbing. a good mix of both gunning and stealth and brawling depending on how i want to play. it's all the best elements of the previous uncharted but all at once. i'm sooo happy right now.

I will be impressed if they eliminate the drops below 30fps.

For me it is.

The E3 trailer was the most technically impressive thing I've ever seen in a video game. The 15 minute gameplay trailer took me back to reality. Still amazing, but not even close to what was shown at E3, where I could literally see face muscles moving and pores.

I was very pleased with the demo. My gripe with it was Drake low detailed face/cloth, water spray in one waterfall (seemed paintbrush made), slightly dissapointed with some rock formations.
almost all of it can be solved for release.
And if 30fps is stable give us better graphics as I could care less for 60fps.

I thought the demo was absolutely amazing also graphics can still be polished in the next 11 months, so yeah for me it was exactly what I was looking for in next gen.

My first impression is yes but not in graphical fidelity. It seems like the only big changer in that way is foliage physics and general textures with somewhat better lighting. I think the real change to the game will be a more open combat envieroment, combat and traversal mechanics, AI and the likes.

Its not even that big of a difference from cutscene to gameplay.  At first i thought it was another trailer untill it panned out into typical 3rd person mode

ehh I'd say The Order is more of a ''leap'' than Uncharted 4 is
