Ugh, well I hate this kind of stuff and hate microsoft for starting it.

Microsoft didn't "start" this (in the business world, these types of deals happen all over, and happened long before they joined the console world). Second, the situation is much more like Bayonetta 2. Capcom came to Sony. They are co-developing the game. Of course there's going to be some kind of incentive.

Nothing to hate. If you want the game, it will be available on two devices.

''starting'' it is more based on my hunch that Microsoft buying exclusivity to a multiplatform franchise like TombRaider probably triggered an internal reaction in sony, but of course I don't know this for sure. How often do we have specific franchises shifting exclusivity to platforms on such an airy basis?Capcom came to sony for what? To save a title they would otherwise be unable to make without additional financial aid?  So nothing like Bayonetta 2 clearly. The fact that street figter IV sold 3m units on 360 makes me question the whole thing to be honest, but I'll take your word for it.

Either way this obviously warrants a negative reaction from some fans when they've been led to see the franchise as multiplaform for the better portion of the last decade (across playstation and xbox) so lets not fool ourselfs with the ''Nothing to hate'' rhetoric.

How do you know that ? Do you have a source or is it a guess ?

Did you not watch the show yesterday? Have you not been keeping up with SFV news? Research does a mind good. Stark contrast from what they said nearly a year-and-a-half ago.

It could be but it's just a good guess for now, it's not official yet, while it's official for Bayonetta2 , if that's true, they should make it official

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

How's it a: "good guess" when the first source has direct quote(s)?

Where ? They just say it's a console exclusive, but they dont say " it's 100% funded by Sony " liike Bayonetta.

Um, you described exactly what happened with Bayonetta 2. They needed aid to complete the game, in both cases. As for what you call "rhetoric", I call being realistic. What are you going to accomplish hating deals like this? The one who shouldn't be fooled is you. Your input won't change practices that are generations old.

Should have been more clear I was actually being sarcastic here, are we to believe that Capcom couldn't afford to make to another street fighter game without sony co-developing? A 2.5D fighting game that sells in the millions and is garunteed to make its money back. If this is actually the situation I would be dumbfounded lol

And secondly, its not rhetoric I'm spouting its personal sentiment. I dislike it. I have no problems with exclusives but when you muddy the lines with specific franchsies I find it very anti-consumer. If there was reasoning I could respect, then that would be a different story but I've yet to see that.

They didn't need Sony speficially, they needed help (read my source above, the game wasn't ready for a release for at least another 4 years). Partnering with Sony seemed to have helped it out, and it's still multiplatform.

and in the best way possible, too.

Cross platform multiplayer for the win.

LMAO, just read the source about the next game taking 6-7 years to develop and I'm gonna dismiss it as the typical nonsense some of these guys shit out of their mouths. This is coming for the kings of on-disc DLC and 3 releases of the game. The two sources are an empty PR statement about how much sony and capcom love each other and then daft statement by the games producer, at the time probably trying his best to validate another few re-releases.

Forgive my cynicism but my feelings remain the same. Maybe sony  gave them the financial incentive to make a new game instead a street fighter IV (Ultra mega PS4/X1 edition), in which case thank F*ck.

And I didn't say it was: "100% funded by Sony", either. I said the situation IS LIKE Bayonetta 2. I didn't say it was identical to it (outside of teigaga's description). I really do advise reading up on it, though. SFV was in trouble before Capcom found a partner. It didn't have to be Sony, that's just where the cards fell.

Well if it's just that and not funded, a better comparison would be Dead Rising 3.

Imo, the Bayo 2 comparison only makes sense if Sony funded it because Capcom needed money to make the game

Zactly. Bayonetta 2 would have probably been canned without Nintendo.

Yes :)

CGI-Quality sources confirmed 2 things.

1.Sony and Capcom have partnered on SFV,
2.Capcom producer last year said SFV wouldn't come til 2018.

Neither points reject my reality. My reality being that this deal was made due to financial benefits and convienience (not necessity - so not comparable to Bayonetta). Also that the only reason SFV would've been missing til 2018 is that Capcom would've kept with the money hungry laziness-insert crappy remasters, on disc DLC, re-releasing a game several times over and denying people the chance to just unlock the additonal content as DLC at its face value-instead making repurchase the whole game.

Does my reality sound unreasonable?
