Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

I'm not sure Folklore is why the PS3 is awesome, but I'm glad you liked it, heh.

 

Anyway, nice bet kingofwale about KH3 (just saw it in your sig).  I'd also take a 1 week ban if KH3 is a Wii exclusive.  I'm not too fond of these bets but I'm fairly confident about this one.

 

Oh, and Valkyria looks awesome.

Go to gametrailers. They've got a few videos that have gameplay on it. Best I can tell it's a lot like "Future Tactics uprising" with a cover system.

Future Tactics core gameplay ruled. Just it's characters, stor and upgrade system sucked.

I just looked it up, and it was announed for Q3. I hope it hits in August. So far, Disgaea 3 is the only exclusive set to hit the ps3 in August, and this would help things out a bit.

This reminds me, Tekken 6 really needs a release date. :|
