I feel like the next big one is RE. But no idea who gets 7. Either way, hope Capcom didn't sell cheap because that's millions of copies they're losing.

I had a theory last gen, and I think it holds water. I said this in the wake of PS3 losing exclusive after exclusive. The theory is:

Going multiplatform doesn't "expand the userbase". It "divides the userbase".

GTA: San Andreas (PS2 only): 27M; GTAIV (PS3 and 360): 25M

Tekken 5 (PS2 only): 3.87M; Tekken 6 (PS3 and 360): 3.93M

Final Fantasy X (PS2 only): 8.05M; FFXIII (PS3 and 360): 7.31M

Devil May Cry (PS2 only): 2.99M; DMC4 (PS3 and 360): 2.86M

Virtua Fighter 4 (PS2 only): 1.81M; Virtua Fighter 5 (PS3 and 360): 1.33M

Can't help but see a pattern here, notice how most of the Non-exclusive were worse games than the previous ones

That all actually makes a lot of sense. I also thnk its natural to expect the non exclusives to be worse of cause the devs generally have more work to do actually getting the game to run and less time to spend on making the best possible game they can make. I have also always believed that going multiplatform just splits the user base.

Gasp, well this is surprising. I thought Ono said a while ago that he didn't have the budget for a new Street Fighter?

Sony must be paying for a part of the development costs. I'm saying 'a part' because it isn't 100% PS4 exlusive. It's the only logical explanation IMO.

With Guilty gear, mortal kombat and now street fighter 5, ps4 is THE console to get for any fighting game fan like me.

I just need a new virtua fighter, a Kof and maybe a rival schools and it will be perfect.

This is...awkward.

"Dejavu" is the correct word when you remind something form ehm....ehm....ehm PS... PS2   exclusivity era

Not bothered if it's exclusive to PS4 or not since that's the console I'll be buying it on anyways, I'm just happy we're actually finally getting a fifth entry in the series instead of another super duper ultra mega busta moves edition of the fourth game... although is it worth me even buying this, or waiting until the fifth game gets such a ridiculous edition too? o.O

I think that have already announced a 'Super Mega Ultra Fighting Supreme Iron-Fist Power-Man Ultimate Epic Jumbo Really Big Street Fighter V Turbo-Tastic Wreck-It-Ralph Edition' .... I'd wait for that.

Hmm, pie.

Wow... Certainly was not expecting this. Is this what that industry 'insider' meant when he said alot of people will 'rage' when the news of a certain game exclusivity breaks out? I can definitely see a Tomb Raider-like outrage coming on soon...

I dunno...I enjoyed them *Kanye shrug*

You think they were so much worse than the previous ones, that sales remained roughly equivalent, and if they were better, they'd have sold millions more?

I'm doubting that. Ghosts was the worst Call of Duty in recent history and still sold 23.49M copies vs. 27.4 for MW3 (highest selling PS3/360 combo) or better yet, vs. 23.76M for MW2, since quality is the issue you're bring up, and MW2 was the best one (at least in my opinion).

I'm just saying, unless the game revolutionizes either its own series or the entire genre and brings in new gamers, it will sell roughly the same, multiplatform or exclusive, because the current fanbase is still the same, so they'll get it regardless. Tekken has roughly "4 million fans", so if Tekken 7 came out tomorrow, around 4 million people would buy the game, whether they get a PS4 to do it, get an XBone to do it, or have both consoles already and pick one platform over the other. There won't be "2 million new fans" just because the game is multiplat, because those people wouldn't care, unless Tekken 7 made moves in the fighting genre. Like what COD4 did for shooters.

edit: oh yea, and I forgot to mention, in my examples that, all those games went multiplat and sold the same.....but MGS4 stayed exclusive and outsold Snake Eater. That was more proof for my case, per se

SFV exclusive and GG rdX as exclusives... ok...ok...this is nuts.... in the category fighting games the Ps4 just destroy the X1 ... KS is a great game, but with SFV and GG rdX as the exclusive Ps4 simply trampled the X1.
Gameover, PS 4 is the way to go if you are fan of fighting games!

Big news from Capcom. Love Street Fighter! Still, I was hoping for a Dragon's Dogma sequel.

So much agree with both this guys statement, expecially why they make a games for different platform of games if cost double, while they can save the cost, make the best one and still selling more on one console.
