ICYMI: The fitness tracker market has really picked up in this last year. One of the hottest trending Christmas gifts this year.

Wii Fit U released last January in NA. One of it's key additions is a pretty damn good Fit Meter that in terms of it's individual quality is every bit as good as a Fitbit or Jawbone device. The  Wii Fit Meter itself is also significantly cheaper than it's competitors (less than $20 compared to over $80 for a similar entry level Fitbit or Jawbone). It's only downfall is that it's NFC features only are available to the Wii U, not to any smartphone / tablet.

Here's what Ninty should do: A Wii Fit mobile app that utilizes the Fit Meter's NFC to sync data to a smart device & cloud service similar to how Fitbit or Jawbone devices use bluetooth to their mobile app. And then actually sell the Fit Meter in sporting goods stores where athletes and people losing weight would actually find it.

I've heard you can also use the Fit Meter for your pets too. So even creating a Wii Fit Pets app along with the Fit Meter being sold in pet stores may even make sense.

I get the feeling Nintendo already has all this in the works for their QoL platform.

Yeah, I'd like to see Wii Fit taken to the next level. I'm not sure if it'd be effective though.
