You make perfect sense and my response was made out of context. I apologize. They probably are comparing graphics to HD consoles but it does not make sense. They deserve a 9.5 as I think they look better than both Prime and Galaxy.

Just think about how many SNES games would have been docked graphically if they compared the games to 3DO or Turbo Duo or PC games. Today, the market is different and reviewers are being tough on Wii in an unpresedented manner.

I disagree, they probably would have rated it lower simply because there would not be enough options in the game.

They fail to mention the coin game or any of thee extras because they NEEDED to nitpick and try to justify giving the game less than a ten. I hope future reviews are not like this or I will not be checking out their site for reviews. These guys are supposed to be professionals.

but boy does everyone love this game wow, always gets good reviews, always gets positive comments, everyone i know that has played it loves it...i really should give the game a shot one of these days... :/

take there gripes about the online! This is not an FPS where commication can be needed for play, why would anyone care about have voice chat. If it was a friend, call them on their cell(if you have the same service) and talk on bluetooth, otherwise I really do not wanna talk to some ubermega nerd who is gonna trash talk me after he kicks my arse... and then the leaderboard... didnt Sakuria give a very good reason why there is none!!! ughh, great score-

Seems a bit over the top to me, but this gen in full of over the top scores.

9.5 is the type of score you give to games like Super Mario 64 or Resident Evil 4, not stuff like Bioshock or Smash Brothers. Now, it seems like just about anything can get a high score.

I'm going to ignore this score, because I doubt the score itself gives an accurate summary of how good the game actually is. Instead, I'm going to be the judge myself. When I play this game come Sunday, I'll see how good this game really is. Untill then, however, I will remain skeptical.

A better way to do that would be saying something like:

"It's amazing that a game that is basically a sequel can get a 9.5 score. It seems like very sequel of a popular game is scoring a 9.5 or above, e.g. Super Mario Sunshine II or Half-Life 2.5. Can a game like SMG, Bioshock or SSBB really compare to the classics like SM64 or RE4? It must be all about review score inflation and not the actual quality of the games."

Well, this gen only 2 games have recieved better scores from IGN, so we can't really complain. That is Bioshock and SMG.

The graphics is a tiny bit harsh, but hey, we can't expect every single reviewer to love the game.

Overall a good review.

1 More review 9+ , and this will be the 3rd game ever to outshine OoT with more than 10 reviews, at least for some time.

pretty much what I expected score-wise, I predicted 9.4 and it got 9.5

They were harsher than I expected at the graphics, and softer than I expected on the control scheme. So in a way, they cancel themselves out. :)

Good game, but I don't think people who buy SSBB even cares about scores.

I'm not trolling. However, I do have a problem with the high scores games are getting. Don't you think it's about time standards are raised? Right now, just about any online shooting game can pull 9's and 10's. I disagree with that, I'm afraid. If you think it's trolling, I guess you will have to report me or something. I don't really care.

So far, thee inferior graphics have not taken any actual points away from the games. Maybe thee exception of Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Why reviewers need to remind us that the game does not have graphics as good as thee HD consoles is beyond me. We already know that. But thee over all scores are largely unaffected, despite graphics.
