Why would Capcom make RE:5 for the wii, when they can make ports and railgun shooters and wii owners buy them like crazy. I would expect ports of all the RE games on the wii before i would expect RE:5.

Congrats Capcom. To those who haven't bought RE:UC, do so quickly, it's one hell of a game.
And Griffin.... NO... because UC was the first on-rail Resident Evil and RE4 was the first port. Second ports and on-rails might not be received so eagerly. Just because those two sold, that doesn't mean future ports and on-rails are gonna sell as well.

I'm fairly certain Capcom will be making an UC2. It makes too much sense, and according to the sales it makes too much money not to, as well. Unfortunately, it'll probably be what Wii owners get in place of RE5.

Anyway, I can't imagien how it isn't obvious that Japanese companies tend to set their expected sales numbers at a level that grants them a modest profit. They may have expected more profit from DMC4, but the fact that they openly stated that they were expecting to sell 3 times as many units makes it clear that it cost much, much more to make than UC, for those arguing about it.

Anyway, I think it's quite possible to see some older DMC games on the Wii, but the chances are just as good that we'll see downgraded RE5 and DMC4, really. Just look at how well Gundam Musou is doing in Japan now that it has been released for systems other than PS3. If the companies aren't going to listen to sales, I dunno what they are going to listen to, but it's pretty obvious that a lot of gamers already think there's little reason to go much past the PS2's level anyway, and buyers need something more compelling than better graphics to get them to try another console.

Actually, I can easily understand why they would need more tests. Not all genres perform equally well on all platforms. The Wii has a very new type of userbase and what will or won't sell to them is a mystery still. Testing the waters with some genres and going headlong into it with others makes a lot of sense.

What an absurd question. They would make a better game because it would sell better and make them more money. The better a game is, the better it sells. Putting more effort into games on a system that sells your software very well will result in a large increase in profit due to increased sales.

Unfortunately, Capcom decided to reward RE4 and RE:UC owners by giving them guess what? Another RE remake. They already announced RE:0 remake for Japan.

Sorry Capcom, that just doesn't do it for me...

I think I would almost rather have a REmake of Resident Evil 2 then a port of RE5. REmake of the first Resident evil on GC was pretty bad ass, and getting a completely redone Resident evil 2 would be awesome. Leon Kennedy FTW!
