Forums - Nintendo - FireRed and LeafGreen - Re-Remakes?

I hope we get better remakes. The remakes for Gen II and Gen III got more care and attention than the Gen I remakes. I'm of the opinion that the FR/LG aren't better games than the originals, which is disappointing as I think HG/SS and OR/AS are better than their respective originals. I think this is because FR/LG were primarily made to complete the Gen III Pokedex and not improve upon R/B. Whereas the sole intent and purpose of HG/SS and OR/AS was fan service. I don't think Gen IV should be remade quite yet as they're not that dated -- other than their slowness.

They'll remake Pokemon Stadium.

Then Pokemon Snap, Hey U Pikachu!

Then after Sinnoh is old enough, they'll remake that one.

Pokemon Stadium 1/2 in an HD package for Wii U

Perhaps Nintendo should consider remaking Pokemon Colosseum or XD for New 3DS, instead... with a third Orre game to release on Wii U after that, to show off what they can do with the system.

That being said, I think we might see a combination title that has both Kanto and another new region, since rumours and hints from X and Y seem to point to a new region, but they'd be crazy not to include Kanto in 3D with this generation, and I don't think they're going to have four separate game sets (separate games in separate regions, that is)... so unless they're planning on Pokemon Z including an extra region along with Kalos (which is possible)...

I can't say I know what they'll do, though I doubt they'll redo Fire Red and Leaf Green any time soon, if ever.

What they should do instead is take several of the earlier regions and make one huge game connecting all of them together into one massive experience. Sort of like how Gold and Silver had Kanto in it, but less limited. Heck, they like to try to be unpredictable when it comes to the "sequels" these days, so they should make ORAS sequels that include Jhoto and Kanto as well. I'm resisting buying ORAS, but if they did that I'm not so sure I would be able to anymore. Bring them all together and give it a huge new story.

Lol, I can just see the names now for an all versions encompassing Pokemon game: Pokemon Rainbow and Tye-Dye. Have fun trying to buy those as a straight adult male in the stores, ha ha.

I have only played gen 1, 2 and whatever x/y is. I would love to play an updated version of yellow/blue/red. I feel like collecting all pokemon in it would be more satisfying. Plus I would know recognize them all.

They should do a gen 1 remake on a home console. Man that be sweet.

I don't think it'll happen this generation, but I think it might next.

BUT, since these games are also playable on 3DS, I doubt that Nintendo will feel a need to remake them yet.

I think there's a flaw here. If the next remake doesnt happen til the 3DS' successor then it wont matter if DS games are playable on 3DS it will matter if they're playable on that NEXT system, and I doubt Nintendo's next handheld will be double backwards compatible.  So unless they DO release it for 3DS( which I dun see as likely either as that'd prolly get a bunch of complaints about the number of remakes the 3DS has) then I dun see it happening, at least for a while.  Not that I dun wish they did, just seems unlikely to me.

If the next handheld can play 3DS games, I dont see why they wouldnt play DS games too.

Or they could stop with the annual releases and actually build up a demand for Diamond and Pearl remakes on the next Nintendo Handheld. Next year they can release X2/Y2 and then wait two years for the second year of the next HH. Diamond and Pearl would be 10 years old then.

I agree. The annual release model means the generations will be shorter or the remakes faster coming.
