No embargos, but no review copies? Which still means an embargo, right?

Pretty much. Only way you can get the game and release a review is if you get lucky and manage to purchase a copy yourself from a store before the games release date.

Aren't they confident of their own product? I mean, if they don't want early reviews without release, I'd be thinking twice before buying the game.

That's the point. They aren't confident. Most games that have review embargos the day the game releases will most likely get low scores.

I notice this in films as well. I can tell when a film will score low if reviews start coming in on the day it releases. I'm not sure why they do it, as I'm sure most people who look at reviews will know that if the game has a day one review embargo will know the game won't be good. They're trying to hide the games faults from the average consumer but the average consumer doesn't even care about reviews and will purchase the game either way.

Next thing you know they won't even allow reviews.

Who else thinks this is an attempt to combat Kotaku's new review policy?

Lolll, Oh Ubisoft... Keep it up guys and maybe one day, you can be the worst company in the world!

If you'd told me a year ago they'd be challenging EA's crown for the King Douchebag of the industry I would have said no way, but they seem to be getting closer every day.

After that gamers have to sign an agreement not to talk about it or act like it exists for three months after the release...

Damn, you just have to laugh at this inane pr speech, it's just out of control.

well thats not possible.   but i bet they will try, flagging reviews on youtube, pressur the buyable reviewers to not review it. and built in some tits into the game so the feminazi reviewers will get batshitcrazy over it.

Its so sad but true... Once a while, they pull out gems like Far Cry 4 (Although the PC version does have endless amounts of stuttering) but the rest of the time, they are such a facepalm these days... And people still buy their shit, just like come on... If I punched you in the face, would you buy me drinks? No? Then why the tits are people still buying the game for $60 dispite them being so glitchy, laggy and almost unplayable... And don't even get me started about the $99 micro-transactions

Soooo...at the current rate of suckitude, I think we can confidently start placing bets on what company will buy which IP after Ubisoft goes out of business? Because right now, this is sounding very similar to 7th gen Capcom.  And we all know where they seem to be headed.

That's the sad thing though; their garbage is still selling gangbusters.
