Forums - Sony - Sony Pictures Paralyzed By Computer Hacker Attack With Ominous Message

sigh, not justification, just experience. having dealt with various hacks and defending against them for the last 20 years I would be far more suspicious it was a fake if it was high quality graphics and excellent grammer.

Well for one thing announcing the hack directly like that suggests that it was its full extent. The style is irrelevant. I would be far more prudent to not tell someone you are hacking them, take the data, leave and use, cause then you aren't as likely to get caught and you have more opportunity to actually use the information.

The way its presented here is more of a prank, a vunerability exploit. To differentiate between fake and real doesn't make sense here because regardless of its style the fact that it happened mean it really did exploit a vunerability in there security. To be told of a hack rather than find the aftermath actually lessens its vunerability.

Most of these groups want publicity, they are getting exactly want they want out of this with just about every major news site picking it up, not all hackers are doing this sort of crap with the intention of covering their tracks. I also wasn't suggesting it was fake or real, merely pointing out the incorrect assumptions that poor grammer and graphics makes it likely fake is garbage. Prank or not it is pretty serious incident.

No doubt in my mind theres someone at top level thats being paid to run down the company and force a buy out. There is no way in hell they never learned from their mistakes in 2011 right? PSN has been the same poor service with the same old Linux servers since 2008 and they are now forcing people to pay for it when its free on PS3 and Vita. Every time I point this out to numerous news sites I get labeled a "troll" or "fanboy".

You probably get labeled that because it's hard to know when a company changes servers. So do you have any proof that they are running old linux servers from 2008?

Only proof i have is its the same network and same service that needs long mentainance down times. I also would get kicked offline randomly on PS4's psn just like i still currently do on my PS3. Its not my internet because it does not happen on Steam, Wii U or Xbox One with the exception of crappy ass Destiny. And no im not buying a Vita just to test if the same thing happens on there also but you can buy one for me if you like and I will give you an update on its online service.

Well you see that's not proof and that why you're labeled a troll. For instance I've never been kicked off PSN or xbox live with my PS3,360,PS4 or X1. You think it's not your network because Steam, wii U and X1 don't have issues but that's not the way it works.

If you want to post how you've always had issues with Sonys network staying connected and things like that you'll probably be fine. Making huge leaps that they're still  using the same servers from 2008 and what OS they're using is just silly.

They literally said themselves they are shutting down PS3 online games to use the same servers on PS4. Also what has changed about the service besides it being pay to play and features? It has the same connectivity issues and same long mentainance down times, nothing has changed and im not confident anything will in the near future. Hopefully they prove me wrong though.

So... is Spiderman going to the Avengers or what?

So when I asked if you had a source for this you said no but now you have a source that Sony is using the same servers?  Also incase you didn't know servers can easily last five years espicially if you upgrade them. We don't know the original hardware the servers had in 2008 compared to now.

Must be the Marvel fanboys wanting the rights to Spider-Man movies to be back with Marvel Studios.

Actually, the Spider-man thing is okay by many. Sony and Disney have a mutual deal that benefits both and they are happy. It's the mutant issue with Fox that is bigger. Marvel Universe without mutants is not the Marvel Universe.

Hmm, pie.

I have no time for flame baiting. You have google as a source and most on these forums know what im talking about. PS3 servers are gradually getting shut down to use on PS4. Spin it however you like im not replying to you anymore.

Just save everyone the trouble and post the dang thing. Not only it will prove you right but prove him wrong. Otherwise, you'll always be called out.

Make it easy for yourself.
