The hype is massive right now. I haven't felt Nintendo related hype on this level since the Wii's first year on the market. I'm going out on a big limb here and saying it open with 1m+ in the US or very close to it.

Nintendo said pre orders for SMash were higher than MK8. MK sold 2 million in it's first week. 1.2 on it's first day. So more than 2 million in the first week.

650k^ is super huge numbers Lots of people were surprised with MK8 debut (mostly because other big games excluding NSMBU sold less than expected!!!)

Also the game and accessories are actually all running out. And Nintendo shipped alot, but demand for the adapter was immense. My gamestop didnt get one in, now i have to wait :-/

I bought mine at my local gamestop store yesterday, and the employee told me it was the first time he saw a so big enthousiasm for a game since almost 2 years and first time they sold so many copy in only few hours
