Forums - Gaming - Fans cheer ‘smooth’ Smash Bros. Wii U online experience while Microsoft and Sony games struggle - Anyone finding this to be true?

How many fighting games have broken online, serious question.

Not many if I were to guess. Many of them are 2d though.

Kudos to Nintendo, show them how it's supposed to be done.

And Many don't sell like Smash Bros during launch either nor do they have 4 player modes

The online is free

Pocky Lover Boy!

"Smash Brothers Isn't A Technical Fighter" You is so dumb. Any game with as many variables and conditionals is technical. It is played at a professional level as well. The combos have to be made yourself rather than pressing random buttons. I think smash is one of the most technical fighters out there.

Now, I love me some smooth online though. Brawl had decent Wifi battles I think. They obviously fixed the dropping out and stuff so I look forward to playing it.

It's just that nobody ever talks about the smooth launches on PS4/X1.

Destiny/Cod/Fifa

All huge games, all with significant online components, all with no server problems at launch (that I've heard about).

Aside from Tekken 6, Mortal Kombat 9, and Super Smash Bros Brawl, what prominent fighting games last gen and current gen have you heard to have poor netcode?

Killer Instinct, BlazBlue, Persona 4 Arena, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Street Fighter 4, and many others haven't had issues with their netcode. Anime based fighters like the DBZ, Naruto, and Gundam games with their wide open areas have also had great netcode and run well when playing online.

Why bring up the sales? I cant see any other "traditional" fighter that could work with 4 player mods outside of tag with a few have.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Well, sales = more people online = more load on servers, specially if they are all trying to connect at all once so... And I do agree that most fighters dont play 4 players but again, 4 player matches do put more load on a per game baises than 1v1 cause if you have 1 person from Japan, another from US, another from Africa and another from China, you are going to have bad time vs 1v1 is just, you and another person

I think fans are rejoicing because of Brawls awful lag. The reason for the issue was the Wii's terrible wifi chip.
