Forums - Gaming - Is MS doing enough to win you over/back

One day they likely will..  For those who have  PS4 already i think it's really going to rely on lowering the price and delivering a plethora of must have exclusives. If they use Rare properly, produce a Fable to makes the game more hardcore rather than less, and deliver stellar Gears Of War content I'm gonna jump in at some point. But right now I've got so many wiiu and PS4 games to catch up on and it seems like those consoles are gonna be able to keep me busy for the duration of their lifecylces. It's gonna take some special games to get me to buy additional hardware.

No,they still have the same problem as they did with the original Xbox.No appealing exclusives. The only game that I would buy on the Xbox if it was on another console is Quantum Break and that one game will not make me buy an XboxOne.Even though third party games are the best out at the moment, they are better on PS4 and the DS4 is better so I would prefer that for third party alone.

The only thing that MS did is cut the price massively.

Not yet. I can't download 20GB games, so 24h demos, MS bundles with digital vouchers and 15GB day 1 patches all do nothing to win me back.

I'm waiting for a store bundle with a physical copy included, 399,- with 1TB drive means sold.
A fix for the gamma shift would be nice too, but I can adjust my set for that as I did for the 360.

MS is on the right track, however still ignores people with crappy internet.

Considering that most of the consumer base that would be interested in buying a new console has decent internet, you can't expect MS to lower profit margins for almost no gain by bundling in physical software. Look, I sympathise with you, but blaming MS is not right, especially when Sony and Nintendo have both done it this gen. There is a big chance digital is the future, so at this point console manufacturers will do everything they can to promote digital media.

I see it more that MS is mostly interested in the consumer base with great internet. Which is fine, I'm not blaming them, much better margins to be made from people with unlimited internet willing to spend the same on digital downloads and movies. For someone like me, who sticks with physical media for full games and movies, they're simply not doing much to win me back.
I can wait for the slim revision and buy the, by then, discounted physical games.

I hate gaming journalism, the Xbox One Internet policy stuff was completly overblown there was so much false information flying around. Also they left out how Sony was planning to do the same thing, there was a reason Sony let Microsoft go first at E3, they wanted to see how people reacted to the policies. After Sony saw how hated they were, they changed their stance left the policies out and manipulated the situation. Sony is like Palpitine from Star Wars, the whole universe loves him but don't realize the evil behind their actions.

lmfao. You're accusations are ridiculous and you have nothing to prove your claims.

E3 presentations are planned months in advance. Company policies and strategies are planned YEARS in advance. Stuff like that doesn't change overnight.

Shuhei Yoshida himself admitted they had planned the same thing. They just never revealed, so while the world was just pointing at the the Xbox One, PS4 hid the fact they were going to do everything from DRM to the PS Eye being bundled with the PS4. Good thing Sony only let you know what they wanted.

That site is in no way reliable. Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

I loved the OG Xbox, sort of meh on 360 after multiple hardware failures, and by the time XB1 was announced and everything they were about with it, I swore off MS gaming hardware for good.

I won't be changing my mind, though I could see myself getting a used one at a garage sale someday. I have access to one, but just don't care for it at all.

Almost but not quite, but I respect the effort. Still no exclusives i'm interested in. The amazing holiday price apparently doesn't apply in Canada so my respect is from afar....xbox only really cares about the US, everyone else gets shafted.

As an avid Xbox hater they have certainly done more to appeal to me than the PS4. And even my friend got the Sunset Overdrive bundle before a PS4 which is unheard of.

But still not enough for me to purchase one.

Well, they arent revolting as they were in that infamous unveil and E3, but my stance remains unchanged. With the 360 i was an early adopter lured by a library of early exclusives and japanese titles and ended up disappointed a few years down the line with RRoD and lack of exclusives, limited mostly to 3 franchises, none of wich i'm a fan of.

For them to win be back requires a complete gen of support and great exclusives that appeal to me. I most certainly wont be burned again. Microsoft has the tendency to gouge their customers once they reeled you in (that fable 3 was shocking in that regard). Therefore, i certainly wont be biting easily.

Actually, there is another requirement. For them to have less FPS' games coming out. The concept of a shooter console attached to the Xbox turns me off completely from getting one.

They won me back when they got rid of their DRM and always online polices,
