Forums - Nintendo - Did I just find the one actual un-biased Sonic Boom review on the internet? 6.5/10!

Its certainly better then most of the other scores but its so sad that when a game gets a 6.5, its considered a "good" score for the series/franchise or great when it comes to sonic boom. I obviously wont be buying it but if I ever happen to get it for free, I will try it out

Well 6.5 really is not that bad. It is decent. They had fun, but the technical flaws hurt it somewhat is all they are saying. They want running, but instead are not being able to run. Who says sonic just has to run? Why can't he be like Mario and jump sometimes?

It interest me because games that are truly as bad as some are saying, usually are given horrible scores across the board. I.e Superman 64 was panned by everyone, including myself. EGM gave it around a .5/10. But this game is getting some mediocre reviews as well. So it is hard to say if it really is bad, or if people are just being really critical of a mediocre game that may actually be worth a rental or purchase by some. Especially on the eve of the Europe release of it. Sales will crash because of the bad press and it will do even worse in Europe.

Well... I still would say that the game is bad but I feel like there should be an arguement to be made to whether or not this should count as a "Sonic Game" cause there are a lot of people saying that this is the lowest scoring "Sonic Game" and its true to a degree but I feel like there should be an * with it. And what I mean by that is, is that this game is developed by RBS where as other Sonic games are developed by Sonic Team and a lot of the mechanics are different than traditional sonic games. So I feel that this is more like the "Hyrule Warriors" of Sonic rather than an actual offical Sonic game.

And the whole running part is what separates Sonic from other platformers! (As well as low review scores lawl)

I think that maybe, with so many characters to play it was hard to just make a bunch of levels where Sonic runs around all over the place. They tried to be ambitious and fell short. But i also wonder if the other characters do feel natural. If sonic was not in the game would it be fun without him? Since he cannot run anyways.

Idk about that, I mean, from the reviews I have heard, each character has its own level and u can't switch inbetween the characters at any time so I mean, they could have just easily designed Sonic's levels based on speed... And the game is bad cause of other things rather than just level design and the characters. The game itself is buggy as hell and there are tons of fps issues which is a big downer and it is gamebreaking as well as immersion breaking

I have the feeling that this is worse than Sonic Lost World (what is, in my opinion, a good game)
