IMO the E3 trailer looks like it could be running on Wii U, perhaps it's not a 60FPS game like other Wii U exclusives, that would give Anouma more room to make the graphics look better.
Wind Waker was 1080p, there are some similarities in the art style with the new Wii U exclusive, that wasn't designed from the ground up with Wii U's hardware in mind.
I don't think it's been said what the resolution or frame rate will be for Zelda Wii U yet, but if the resources of the system were used towards making the best image quality, at 720p 30FPS then the dev team would have more room to breath than if they pushed for 1080p (2.25X more performance vs running at 720p) like on WWHD or going for 60FPS (2X more resources) at 30FPS.
We're not seeing huge amounts of enemies in the trailer shown.
While the environment is nice looking and draw distance is pretty good it's not mind blowing open world stuff.
IMO an open world game like Far Cry 3 on 7th gen consoles is easily up to par with much of what's been shown in the Zelda U trailer, Wii U does have a better GPU than last gen systems, it's packing more memory for gaming and of course there's more eDRAM than 360.
Effects look better in Zelda U, lighting too, which should be happening and this is an exclusive.
I would expect when we see Zelda U again it will have surpassed this.
What was shown in the trailer isn't something that a system with a GPU that's substantially more efficient than 360's, along with a newer feature set and more memory shouldn't be able to handle provided we're talking similar resolutions and frame rates to open world games like Far Cry 3 on 7th gen, maybe solid 720p 30FPS, although Nintendo seems to like 60FPS on it's Wii U exclusives.
Maybe 2X the frame rate and 720p is possible with those kinds of graphics on Wii U.
I guess we'll find out, hopefully next year.
Oh yeah I maintain I'd like for Nintendo to have a Direct for Zelda at the end of the year, show us a new Trailer.
They need to do something with Sony having their PS Experience event next month and Nintendo showing off their next flagship game, would at least draw back some focus.

Zelda games usually go for 30. It's not hard to find a 1920X1080 screenshot of this game. It's actually kind of easy.

hmm, well that does sound great but he might just be promoting the game so I'll wait till we see more.
I just hope it's as innovative and mind blowing as OOT was. That's all I care about.
The fact that people are talking about "graphics" in a Zelda thread proves that even [some] Nintendo fans have swallowed the smelly diarrhea the majority of this industry spews out every day. As for me, I've totally blacklisted any media of this new Zelda game. The next time I see it, it will be on my TV screen. :D

Zelda U will be 720p/30fps, I'm prepared to bet on it.
As for Far Cry 3 on 7th gen, that ran at a sub-HD resolution, and suffered from abundant screen tearing and framerate judder.

We'll see what happens I guess.
The comment on Far Cry was more to compare an open world title with IQ like that. I doubt Zelda would be sub-HD, suffer from tearing or judder, those things should be solid in the case of this game.

I'm so excited for this game! I can't wait to see more of it!
I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!
Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.
"Maybe" have something to show at next year's E3? I think that pretty much puts it as a 2016 title. :(
Pretty damn excited by his comments though.
