I think that as a franchise, you have to be able to withstand the test of time. If Assassin's Creed gets past this fault, then I believe it has what it takes to still become relevant. Any franchise that hits extreme highs and low bottoms is a stable franchise for the future. I could go into detail why but you guys can do the research, it isn't that hard. AC, even though I barely like the game series, I think it still has much ground to cover unless the development teams don't see otherwise which is where Call of Duty is imo.

I expect Unity to do Black Flag sales and Rogue to do Revelations sales.

For me the series use to be among my favorites is now one I have little to no interest in.

Yes? Have you looked at FIFA 14 sales vs. 15 on next gen? There's no way it won't do better than ACIV did on next gen. Most people don't care about reviews or follow gaming forums, certainly not the mass market that will buy it this holiday

(+ it's like 81 and 76 on Meta, both are "green" scores and not seen as bad...so it will hardly sway many from buying except the hardcore that have been turned off by recent news)

Hell, ACIII is the highest selling AC, right? That speaks volumes, really, seeing as that game was panned by gaming forums.

AC Unity is a different case though, its not necessarily about the reviews, its more of already the word of mouth and attention its getting. Look at all this news and its just day 2.

I think many factors will make sure AC Unity doesn't double like you think, we will see soon enough, especially if by next week or two the game gets a permanent drop.

It has some bugs but Im loking it as are atleast 15 people on my friedns list. Word of mouth alone with make it do really good,

In any case, the game will sell 2m+ FW without a doubt

Why would the game get a permanent price drop the next week or two?? Not a chance. Maybe BF deals but nothing permanent until early/mid next year

Yeah, it'll sell big week 1 for sure. About the permanent price drop, yu be surprised how many huge AAA games drop in price very fast for bad reception.

76 and 81 on Meta is not bad reception. 2m+ FW is not bad reception. The only place it's getting panned is forums, and that will only prevent it from getting great legs. It will get big sales throughout the holidays

COD could get a 40 on meta and it'll still sell over 5mil first week, so fw sales dont matter. Look at COD for vita for example.

Im not talking score, im talking about word of mouth from the players, on gaf they have like 10 threads alone about how AC:U is bad.

But we'll see soon enough, i do know it'll have a good first week, but after that i dunno. Im not saying its going to drop off like a rock, but it wont do stellar numbers imo!

And you still have under 2m as an option but nothing above 5m. Just because you don't see it yourself doesn't mean you have to limit the poll to your opinion. You said it yourself, CoD would sell 5m+ FW even if it got literally panned. AC would sell up to 10m even if it got panned by word of mouth/forums (see: ACIII).

Heck, my ~7m prediction is very conservative compared to past AC sales and it assumes a big drop.

I had all the AC games up to Revelations but I haven't really enjoyed one since AC2.
