Game #16

The name of this game is a portmanteau of this game's predecessor and a very famous mythical sword.

SoulCalibur?

See Veknoid? Wasn't that hard was it

I'm really impressed by Peelman on that one!

Thanks! And I'm impressed by you, SoulCalibur is correct. That was quite fast !

#18: Kingdom Hearts II (Square-Enix, 2006) - PS2 (also on PS3)

My first contact with the series, and to this day it's the best one BY FAR. I actually bought this game because I kept hearing many people praising it, I didn't even know what it was about. The beginning was slooooooow, and kinda disappointing. But then I kept playing, and playing, and next thing I know, I have a nearly complete Journal and am beating the game again on hard mode. It's so simple, but yet so intoxicating (I did pretty much everything, including defeating Sephiroth), and the graphics are colorful and so nice to the eyes. But the gameplay is the only thing that keeps this game so high - the story is, well, awful. This applies for the entire series, the only reason I'm hyped for KH3 is because I'm hoping it will be as fun as the second game. After this one, I went back to the first one and thought was pretty average, and Birth by Sleep was fun, but not AS fun (and became kinda repetitive).

Here's hoping Kingdom Hearts III is on the same level of KH2. I'm actually gonna buy 2.5 HD Remix just for this game (though BbS helps too).

19. Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Wii (2008)
Sora Ltd.

Super Smash Bros. had one of the greatest hype trains to ever soar through the heavens. Thanks to the Smash Bros. Dojo, a new tidbit of information was given to us gamers every weekday. Some days it'd be an item... another day a brand new character (Like say... Sonic the Hedgehog!). Could a game live up to the incredible expectations given to it? Well Super Smash Bros. Brawl certainly did, and with flying colors. More awesome charactes (King Dedede! Toon Link! Solid Snake?), more awesome levels (Smashville! New Pork City! Pictochat?), an even more expanded single player adventure, one of the greatest music collaborations of all time, and oodles and oodles of options and ways to play. Brawl brought it all. Though some may scoff at the more "noob friendly" changes (Okay... the tripping did suck), I thought it allowed for a more even playing field, which meant more fun for all. And while the online was pretty terrible, it still led to us Smashing around the world (Curse you Peach!!!). Can't wait for the next one. ^_^

#16 and 17: both games are part of the same series. A series that was recently involved in controversy and outrage from gamers.

18. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
GameCube/Wii (2006)
Nintendo EAD 3

We all remember it, the moment when The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was unveiled to the world. Grown men cried. Wars stopped. Dogs and cats came to love one another. You know the drill. But Twilight Princess is more than just a flash in the pan in the gaming world. No, the game is another amazing chapter in The Legend of Zelda franchise. Great dungeons, fantastic boss battles (Stallord!), great cast of characters (including the best sidekick character in Midna), and a final showdown that still gives me the shivers just thinking about it. Twilight Princess may be the most conventional of the 3D Zelda games, but it pulls everything off so well that the game's freshness is never really an issue. Just an epic adventure and an epic quest worthy of the greatest of heroes.

17. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
PC/PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 (2011)
Bethesda Game Studios

This game is truly a paradox in my mind. It's combat is dull (unless you make a game within the game like I did. Stealth attacks for everyone!), dungeons are given cookie cutter designs, puzzles are hilariously simple, the inventory system is clunky and (literally) cumbersome, the game is full of bugs and glitches, and the people of Skyrim are devoid of any character or any other interesting qualities. And yet here we are at number 17. For all the criticisms I can lay on it, I can name twice as many praises. It boasts my favorite soundtrack of all time (Yes, for any medium. Jeremy Soule did something amazing here), the worldbuilding is staggering, the world and scope of Skyrim is an adventurer's dream (from the highest peak to the deepest dungeon... I've never been so content traveling a gaming world before), and I have to give Bethesda a lot of credit for the power and choices that it gives to the player. In the end, while I believe that The Elder Scolls V: Skyrim is the least "perfect" game on this list, I also believe that it's one of the greatest examples of what makes this hobby of ours so amazing and unique. Now back to listening to more of the soundtrack.

Admit it, that was for me!

We get outraged so often these days, you're gonna have to be more specific

As for my guess, two Assassin's Creed game.... um... ACII and Black Flag.

Ding ding. Not Black Flag though, it's Brotherhood.

No one can't say good games don't come early into a console generation, and this classic from the 6th is no exception.

"Hey, let's get this out of here. God knows what it is, but he seems to want it badly enough so it must be worth something."

"That scumbag, McAffrey. He took more bribes than anyone. He thinks he's gonna get an honorable discharge if he turns State evidence."

"Then take his car, respray it. I want compensation for this insult!"

"And here she is. The one and only Queen of Sheba."

Even another hint for the #16: Probably the most important game at the start of the generation, since it took sandbox gaming to a whole new level.
