#18: Kingdom Hearts II (Square-Enix, 2006) - PS2 (also on PS3)
My first contact with the series, and to this day it's the best one BY FAR. I actually bought this game because I kept hearing many people praising it, I didn't even know what it was about. The beginning was slooooooow, and kinda disappointing. But then I kept playing, and playing, and next thing I know, I have a nearly complete Journal and am beating the game again on hard mode. It's so simple, but yet so intoxicating (I did pretty much everything, including defeating Sephiroth), and the graphics are colorful and so nice to the eyes. But the gameplay is the only thing that keeps this game so high - the story is, well, awful. This applies for the entire series, the only reason I'm hyped for KH3 is because I'm hoping it will be as fun as the second game. After this one, I went back to the first one and thought was pretty average, and Birth by Sleep was fun, but not AS fun (and became kinda repetitive).
Here's hoping Kingdom Hearts III is on the same level of KH2. I'm actually gonna buy 2.5 HD Remix just for this game (though BbS helps too).
