Hint #19:

"HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAA"

Hint #18:

Often considered the best in the series, but I believe its sequel set during the same time frame is better.

19 is Final Fantasy X

Yup. Those two didn't last very long.

Game #17

Remember that Astérix turn-based strategy game I had in the list a couple of days ago? My next game, is the about the exact opposite perspective.

Rome: Total War?

Even though I see my grammer wasn't entirely ideal there, Rome: Total War is correct !

Final Fantasy 13

Not that one either. The developer for this game is different than the one for the "sequel".

Hint for #18: okay, so the first game's antagonist is kinda the same is this one's. Alright, then these bad guys here want to get the titular... "thing"... to do something with it. And then... something happened with the protagonist's best friend and...

Wait, why does anybody care about this series' plot anyway? I know I don't.

Super Mario World (SNES, 1991)

guessed by Mr_No

Bundled with the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, Super Mario World was proof of the advanced processing power of the newest Nintendo console system and an important check to the growing power and influence of Sega’s 16-bit project. Like its immediate predecessors on the NES, Super Mario World is a platform game that demands its players jump, run, duck, and swim to survive hazards and enemies in each level. It retains the overland map of Super Mario Bros. 3, but makes the game world and the levels within that world much larger, more graphically detailed, and more diverse; ghost houses, fortresses, and castles dot the landscape. Super Mario World marks the first appearance of Yoshi, who would become one of Nintendo’s most famous mascots.

#18 - A god game AND a platformer. Fillmore.

This sequel took 10 years to be made and then released, or it's still to release and is already 10 years in the development road?

It's still to release. It's development right now, but was cancelled at one point.
