Hint for #18: okay, so the first game's antagonist is kinda the same is this one's. Alright, then these bad guys here want to get the titular... "thing"... to do something with it. And then... something happened with the protagonist's best friend and...

Wait, why does anybody care about this series' plot anyway? I know I don't.

This sequel took 10 years to be made and then released, or it's still to release and is already 10 years in the development road?

It's still to release. It's development right now, but was cancelled at one point.
