Hint for game #24:
This game has a lot of heart. Or at least everyone in this forgotten world wants as much.

Far Cry 3?
Posting some results!
#29: Final Fantasy VI!
#28: Uncharted 2
#27: Fallout 3
#26: Metal Gear Solid 3
#25: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
And a brand new hint for you guys:
#24: This game features the "door" to an inaccessible stage that was planned to be later released as DLC. That expansion never came, and there's always that inaccessible "door" alongside the rest of those who allow you to go to different stages.

Epic Mickey?
Fuck me, though, i forgot all about this.
28: StarFox 64: Notable this year because i finally beat an old high school friend's high score that had been on top since 2004 or so. Also discovered that if you get above 1000 hits, General Pepper changes his last line of dialogue from "This is one steep bill" to just "What!?"
27: Sonic Heroes: fuck the haters, this is still great. Has much the same great platforming as the Adventure games, but with more thrilling combat (which could, occasionally, get tedious also)
26: Metroid Prime 3: It's been too long since i played this, or any of its compatriots...
25: Mario Kart Wii: the joy of playing (functional) online Mario Kart for the first time is what gets this above Kart 8. Otherwise they're about equally good.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Psychonauts (Xbox/PS2/PC, 2005)
not guessed

From the brilliant mind of Tim Schafer comes Psychonauts, one of the most unique and enjoyable platform games of the last 20 years. Infused with the expert storytelling and clever sense of humor that defined Schafer's early career with LucasArts, Psychonauts excels in both presentation and gameplay. The game is funny, it's heartwarming, it's surprising, but most importantly it's technically sound and, mechanically, engaging. Players control Raz, a young boy gifted with psychic abilities who sneaks into a summer camp for other like-minded children. That Psychonauts suffered from poor sales is a crime. It deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Super Mario Galaxy, Banjo-Kazooie, and Rayman 2.

Extra hint: It stands out awkwardly as the only cross-gen title in a long running franchise. And my #25 is the closing chapter of a great platform trilogy. |
#26 Twilight Princess?
#25 Donkey Kong Country 3? (so many games here...)

Hmm... Metroid Fusion? |
Correct!

#24 - I was undecided whether to put this ahead of GTA V or vice versa, but in the end SD gets the nod because it is a brand new IP that entertained me a lot, especially after the GTA IV disappointment. Although, even thoug I picked up GTA V for this gen as well, I decided to pass on this one until a sale comes along. Also, Top 25 will be populated mostly by open-world and/or third-person games, both being my favorite genres in gaming...
