Yeah, if you go into Siren expecting great combat, you're doing it wrong. It's supposed to be awkward, because the idea of survival is key. I wish more games in the genre (survival horror) were like it. Instead, we either get too much combat or none at all. Siren has a great blend of little to no combat, very much like the early Silent Hill games.

Either way, congrats on your purchase!

I know, I know. I'm glad that the game features combat as a last resort method (that tends to be my pet peeve in some horror games nowadays, that feature zero means of fighting back when running isn't an option anymore); but it's just that the very first scene with Wright and the cop you're pretty much forced at a certain point to fight back, and I got my ass kicked over and over and over again until I got the hang of it.

Hint for #26, you're are the only one of your kind in this town!

27. Pokemon Black/White
DS (2011)
Game Freak

By the time Game Freak finished Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, players were once again wondering where the world of Pokemon could go. After all, by this time the gameplay had been polished to utmost perfection... laying layers upon layers of nuance to the system. But with Pokemon Black/White, it needed some freshness, and with that, Game Freak sought to create a world Pokemaniacs hadn't seen since Red/Blue: a world with only brand new Pokemon. In fact, Black/White would boast more new Pokemon than even the legendary game that started it all. And with a brand new world and a plethora of brand new Pokemon, Pokemon Black/White really was a fresh and exciting experience for veterans and new fans alike. It even brought us a brand new take on how the adventure played out (who saw that ending coming?) and even the story was given much more crafting than previous games. All in all, Black/White wasn't just a breath of fresh air, but a brand new way to look at the series.

Animal Crossing?

   SimCity 3000

   System: PC
   Genre: City Building
   Year: 1999
   Rank last year: 26 (v 1)

The third entry in the most famous city building series in history was one of a quality we'd came to expect from Maxis. The game is endless, and let's players create the city of their dreams with little limits. To a skilled player, cities boasting many millions of inhabitants were possible.

Personally I wasn't a played skilled enough for cities that enormous. The biggest city I had came close to half-a-million inhabitants. SimCity 3000 wasn't a really hard game though, and it was less balanced compared to it's successor which included a lot more advanced micromanagement. This game does deserve it's place in my history of gaming though, having developed my creative mind and simply because of the sheer huge amount of time I must have played it.

Yuppers.

Game #26

This game in a franchise today ignored by it's developer, is often praised for it's catchy, memorable soundtrack. Some even say it's one of the best soundtracks of any game ever made!

Hint for #26:

Here is a game.
One I highly recommend!
And so the adventure begins when the story should end.

While one world loses.
Another world gains.
But the one who was lost must deal with the pains.

A new world awaits!
But in her heart she groans.
To go back to her father who sits upon the throne.

But in the midst of pain.
Can new hope arise?
Look up, young one. Look up, and fly.
