#28: introduction of one of the most recognizable and iconic game mechanics - even though its debut wasn't exactly ideal yet (but future versions of this game would fix that).

Metroid?

Metroid?

No. What mechanic are you thinking of, the Morph Ball?

I was thinking more of needing certain weapons to get access to new areas...

So #29 was Professor Layton and the Spectre's Call.

#28...well, there's some pretty gruesome scenes of people eating other people's flesh. Well, not "people" I suppose.

The only thing that comes to my mind is either The Walking Dead, Fallout New Vegas or Jade Empire.

Well they're all wrong.

#29 - Tekken Tag Tournament

With no regard toward the series' story, Tekken Tag Tournament pits pretty much every fighter from the first 3 games and spices up the formula with the tag mechanic. The early days of the PS2 were pretty bare when it came to good games but thanks to this game I was never bored during that time. I eventually played it so much that the disc became unreadable, that's how much I loved it.

Also, let's not forget the addition of Tekken Bowling which was a surprisingly fun (and somewhat silly) mode. Where else can you see a panda bear bowling?

Game #28 Hint: The series took a very long break, then three titles were released in a relatively short succession which caused the third one (my listed game) to be unfairly judged as unoriginal and tired when it's actually the best of the three games.

Umm.... ummmmmmmmm.... god, so many possibilities! D:

Metroid Prime 3?

Metroid Prime 3 was already listed earlier in my Top 50 and it's of course not the best of the 3.
