If you like it, thats cool, but majority didnt and its biggest flaw was the battle mechanics (which is the most important in a fighter).

and how many hours of PSASBR did you play?

3-4 hours for Vita, anyway like i said previously^ Majority hated the mechanics and i see why. If you want to ignore the 90%+ (am i overexaggurating it? I dont it) that rather have SSB ring out or a HP meter go ahead.
Fact is almost everyone hated the killing mechanics as they are flawed.
Edit: Also the character roster, many hated it. Its like SSB without Mario/Link/Captain Falcon/Marth. This is everywhere. The game seemed like an advertisement of future games/recent at the time with some of their selection.

Totally fine with it. Improvements are wellcomed.

No offense to Sakurai (my favorite developer ever) but he has a smooth bright style that fits really well for Nintendo's games, but wouldn't fit well for Sony. With Sony's cast, a 3D fighter like Soul Calibur or Tekken would simply make more sense. If they want to do another PSASBR, they should go that route. Even a Marvel vs Capcom Style game would work better. Or... get the old Powerstone team together, and use that engine. |
What does Marvel Vs. Capcom style mean? 1, 2 and 3 all played very differently. However, the 1st 3 games in the Marvel Vs. Capcom series (X-Men Vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Vs. Capcom 1) all played very similarly with minor tweaks. If you mean MvC3, I don't know. I hate that game, and it was designed to be broken from the beginning. Not broken on accident like every other game. It just sucks, to be honest.
Soul Calibur III was the only Soul Calibur game exclusive to Playstation. 2-5 were all multiplatform. Tekken I don't consider a Sony franchise anymore. Not Since Tekken Tag 2.
Game style is not the same as game engine. But, I agree. That's the logical step. Having 3D movement through most areas and stages. The only time Powerstone 2 is a 2D figther is when you're hopping up the old japanese house. Too bad there wasn't a strictly 2D stage in that game, which didn't have the camera panning upward.
I would like to see a sequel, because the inital game wasn't terribly bad, but, it wasn't great either. It was just good enough to warrant being played.
