I would call 8K "to the point of insignificance' considering last week's xbox number is close 2K.

When you consider the fact that the Wii sold about 45k more than the PS3 this week, I'd say the 8k is very insignificant, as noone in there right mind is starting a development right now for either PS3 or 360 in Japan without serious Sony or MS moneyhatting.

I seriously doubt it will out sell the PS3. It got out sold in America, japan, and others last week. By a total of more then 30k. Unless there's a huge drop in the PS3 sales or a huge rise in 360 sales, it's just not going to happen.

I doubt it, but this will be the closest its been in awhile.

I still expect the ps3 to win Japan by 8,000 or so...maybe 4,000 vs. 12,000
I think a lot of ps3 buyers have been waiting for the Yukuza 3 bundle next week. 

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the ps3 EVENTUALLY beats the 360 by 19 million in Japan this generation too--once big name titles (FF, MGS, etc.) start to hit and the price gets down to $200.

Europe will still be a win for the ps3 by normal margins.

US will be close again. PS3 has undeniably improved its position in the US whether the 360 is supply constrained or not. I expect the 360 to outsell it slightly this week, but not by a large enough margin to best it worldwide.

PS3 by 25,000 IMO.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you think Japan PS3 and 360 numbers will be equal? I'd like to see these "early numbers".

I feel sorry because I love 360, but I feel that the momentum of the PS3 will cause it to continue beating the 360. I do not believe 360 ever has a chance in Japan.

 I wouldn't feel sorry if I'm a 360 owner, not at all. Sure PS3 is beating it, but it's not like xbox all the sudden stopped selling. Look at the weekly comparison with last year. xbox is still doing very well on a weekly basis.

If the 360 pwns the PS3 in America this week, because it re'd up its supply, then a worldwide victory for the 360 is a slim possibility. Others...no, and likely never again.
