Not just one generation, but 4 generations with the VC game

I have indeed been making good use of the VC but I did not miss out completely on those years as I have had consol's since mega drive days. I switched to PC gaming after the play station though so missed the last generation of consul games. But Wii has got me right back into it :)

That is the only disadvantage with the Wiis backward compatibility.... If you use a normal GC controller then it doesn't really matter that much because generally when you've finished you put the controller back near/with the console (or take it out completely) so I would have to get up and go to the console anyway.... but using a Wavebird I could have kept it by my bed with the Wii remote/nunchuck.

Still, it is nice to have 100% backward compatibility, I bought Eternal Darkness a few weeks ago for £5, and am thinking of getting Pikmin too.

At least now the "off" button works.
Originally, I seem to remember the only option I had was to eject the disk.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

As I am a bit of a star wars nut, I saw Rouge Squadron 2 for £7.00 it seemed like a must have, it's just a shame I had to spend £20 on a memory card to save the game :) I am enjoying it a lot, but I always enjoy star wars games.

Do buy REmake: It's very tough, but amazing. Since it's pre-rendered it can match graphically with about every game I've seen so far. (for the whiners: no of course not on a HD TV).

Also buy Fire Emblem if you like strategy games. The sequel is on Wii.

Like RPG's: Tales of Symphonia, Baten Kaitos and Skies of Arcadia are very good.

And buy Beyond Good & Evil. One of the most under appreciated games ever.

I plan to get Fire Emblem on release, I am in the UK so got about 2 weeks to wait. In fact turn based strategy is my favourite style of console game. I don't know about the rest of Europe but Game Cube was a non starter here and so the second hand games are few & far between.
