Exactly. People seem to think that the PS4 doesn't employ any DRM at because Sony were against the DRM that MS wanted to use. There are different types of DRM that varies in restriction strictness. Not all DRM is bad.

All DRM is bad for pirates.

Not even remotely true, the problem withDRM is that there are allot of people out there who want to crack it just to be able to say they did it, as a sort of feather in the cap.  The pirates come in well after the crack has been done.  Think George Hotz for example.  So really, the only people impacted by DRM are the average consumer.  Pirates just wait until the work's been done for them.

I can't fanthom any bad influence on normal customer caused by DRM in console that are already in place... Online pass suck, but I understand the purpouse and as long as it is only closing MP portion of the game I'm ok.

For those unaware several companies are competing to become the single big DRM system across various devices, currently many devices use different types of DRM. Not just talking gaming companies here either.

This is Microsofts, and it is mostly related to streaming/recording content, be it videos, music etc etc. When Sony switch to this DRM they'll likely fix the DNLA problem PS4 has.

I think that was the sum of it from my skim through technobabble.

Wellcome back man, sorry Dog... long time no see...

Not sure this DRM will help out on the DLNA case.
