It means it's not a failure in the first place even though some want it to be.

Vita is not a failure because it sold better than the 3DO? Sorry, that doesn't work.

It has also sold better than the WiiU and X1.

Thats not a good reply, he's just going to say those two are failures as well XD

It makes sense for it being over tracked in the "other" category. I can hardly believe that it is not. About 100K.

And for Eu/US, no more than 50K each.

If it is, I'd be very sad. Sony has no idea how to support a failure. We saw that with Betamax, we're seeing it with thr Vita.

Vita is a succes compared to some other consoles. So you can relax.

That doesn't change the fact that Sony doesn't know how to support a failure.

Playstation 3 was a failure and they continued to support it.

The only failure of the PS3 was it's price.

Bet with Xander XT:

I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531

Me!

Well, we know its undertracked in the USA. It was undertracked last month by about 8k and it has to be undertracked this month unless PSTV sold 0 units.

It does decent in Europe and rest of Europe. Which is what most of the rest of world is. Then of course it is basically the only handheld available in some markets in the mid east and asia.

While I suspect it is overtracked, I believe it's not for the reasons you're listing in the OP.

Asia is becoming an increasingly important market these days. Look at all the traditional Chinese localizations you see announced from Japan from games that'll never come to the west - Shining Resonance & Yakuza 0 from SEGA, for example. Sony especially have had a big push in Asia re-branding as Sony Computer Entertainment Japan-Asia over there and pushing stuff like Freedom Wars and Oreshika hard at Taipei Game Show last year.

If you look at sales figures for something like Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment -

http://gematsu.com/2014/11/sales-figures-revealed-latest-naruto-one-piece-sword-art-online-games

400k worldwide, of which we know 238k are sold through in Japan:

(with probably a fair bit more shipped there too).

But that still leaves something like 120-130k missing.

Digital only in the west means they're unlikely to be here, too Even if the game did well we're looking at a few tens of thousands of sales. So the rest, logically, would be the only remaining place it has released - Asia.

I'm not saying the console won't be overtracked in "other", but I think the reason it's tracking as it is there is because of the support in Asia outside of Japan.

kresnik believes it is overtracked,so overtracking has been confirmed for me:P
