Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Reggie, implies that there isn't a big difference between Xbox and PS4

Look at all their library, im talking about facts, games, dont care about coré franchises, for a gamer, what makes a console unique is not thé console image but thé library of exclusives available for everyone, on that, Nintendo consoles are not better, trying to ignore all thé library of exclusives to make it look less unique than nintendo consoles and on par with Xbox library is stupid

Core franchises show which ones both the companies and their target audience prioritise. Both Sony and Microsoft prioritise 13-40 year old Western males, and this is reflected in the games they invest their resources and marketing into. Shooters are the bread and butter of both companies, with a side dish of racing sim.

You can spin that how you want but thé important fact tells everything we need to know : Nintendo exclusives library is not more unique than Sony exclusives library. Every one not blind who takes a look at thé library will come to thé same conclusion.

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Right he is! The only BIG difference between them is marketing.

Pixel counters will disagree. But at the end it is a ll about the gameplay.

Kinect got dropped, Move isn't supported in any new game besides those "highly successfull" Wonderbooks...

So both XOne and PS4 offer just a streamlined PC-experience.

Sonys Playstation brand is going to be history as soon as Microsoft decides to release a (cheap or free) Windows for Games OS...

Still, nintendoconsoles  have not more unique exclusives or more exclusives, this fanboy myth needs to be killed.

Their exclusives are definitely more unique as MS/Sony go after the same market while Nintendo target a different one.

Nop, since Sony targets any audience, and im speaking about games, dont be blind, Sony has at least as much unique exclusives on their consoles, their exclusive library is not like the Xbox one at all, anyone who has a PS3 know that, they have a lot og studios making games you wont see anywhere else + japan support, all that makes their library at least as  much unique. And it will be even more true with PS4 .

More Japan support for PS4? Do you see know PS4 sales there? PS4 is practically dead in japan? Even Wii U has higher sales there. Yes, possibly there will be some exclusives japan games like FF15 or Kingdom Hearts, but the Japan support will nowhere near what PS3 or Wii got.

PS4 and Xbox One share most of their game library with only some exclusives, that always got a match on the other console (Killzone/Halo/Gears of War, Forza/Gran Turismo) . Wii U on the other hand has many exclusive games you will never see on PS4One. There is no match for Super Mario World, Pikmin 3, Wind Waker, Monster Hunter 3, Zelda, Bayonetta 2, Fatal Frame 5, Donkey Kong, Smash Bros, Xenoblade X etc. on PS4/XOne. And there are even many smaller indie games like Stealth Inc 2 that are exclusive to Wii U now, while the first one was on PS3.

Even some Wii U games Lego City: Undercover, has no match on PS4/One, because this game is really a unique open world Lego game (and I particularly mention it here because everyone who like good open world games should play it)

Nintendo are more unique though; their games follow a different design philosophy to either of their competitors because they have a different demographic focus.

Playstation and Xbox concentrate on shooters and M-rated fare, Nintendo focusses on accessible, family-friendly titles. Microsoft and Sony have a strong graphical focus while Nintendo puts graphics secondary to gameplay.

You seem to have a total lack of understanding about how Japan works, see you in few months to see how you will change your Mind.

PS4 has/will have at least as much( ans likely more) exclusive games you will never see on WiiUOne, so your point is irrelevant. If you compare PS3 to Wii360, its thé same.

Maybe, but we are talking about thé exclusive library, not thé company. Because thé exclusive library includes all 3rd party games.

That is thé common myth i was talking about. A lot of exclusive games on Sony consoles pût graphics secondary to gameplay ( and having great graphics doesnt mean its not the case, something a lot of people have trouble to understand, both are possibles, that only makes thé game better, like TLOU )

The technical focus extends to their exclusives as well though. Granted, they aren't all technical showcases, but both MS and Sony's exclusives are much more that way inclined than NIntendo, who don't really care about pushing graphical limits. Also, MS and Sony's exclusives do both skew more towards the M-rated compared to Nintendo's more E-rated slant.

You seem pretty hell-bent on trying to prove something completely untrue, bro.

I think Playstation All-Stars is enough proof of how unique Sony's exclusives are.

Im going to agree with you both on this one. Sonys console side is defintely more focussed on combating xbox, and theyre definately pushing the more mature shooter/racing angle on it.

However Aerys has a point as sony can make unique and interesting titles, for the vita. Games like tearaway, invizimals, freedom wars, an gravity rush are far from the fare they put out on their consoles at the moment. This is probably why I enjoy the vita more than ive enjoyed the ps3/4. I just worry that these titles will dry up due to the vitas current situation.
