I assure you I didn't. It's simply that what you said wasn't true.

When you were corrected you said:

Threads do not exist outside of "online forums" they did not exist before "online forums" created them. So again a wildly innaccurate and false statement.

You said something that was incorrect, got corrected and now in order to try and save face you are trying to change it as if you meant "it was the most repeated topic of discussion among game enthusiates since snes days" which is A. Not what you said, B. clearly not what you meant and C. Still not remotly true.

No one really cared what Nintendo did in those days, they were too busy being amazed and playing the games. If there were any discussions like that going at the time they were about what Atari should do to become relevant again or what Sega should to stay competitive and beat Nintendo. There was no discussion of what Nintendo should do becuase there was no doubt what Nintendo was doing was right and amazing for the time. Then Sony came along and released the playstation and completley dominated all discussion and occupied everyones thoughts. No one cared what Nintendo was going to do or should do even two years later when they released the N64. Even then no one really discussed what Sony or Nintendo "Should do" They both made awesome consoles and games that complimented each other. There was no real discussion of competition or what Sony or Nintendo should do. Neither were seen as competitors at the time, simply two different services that provided different but great gaming/entertainment. At that time each pretty much had their own magazine and only really just advertised their games. There really wasn't a "console war" or discussions as we know them now. That really didn't start until the mid 2k's and after the release of the Xbox. Even in the late 90's early 2k's when review sites/forums were like IGn and GAF were just getting started there wasn't really much discussion over competition or what a company should do. It was focused on games and game reviews and in most cases offering a place for devs to talk with consumers. Then in the mid 2ks as those sites become more prevelant as Xbox was on the scene that's when the "console war" really started as well as discussions of what either should do both online and off. It was prepetrated by the review sites and forums.

The point is "Nintendo should do:" discussions were never the most prevelent, not really until the realse of Wii U. Sure there was some during dreamcast/game cube but those discussions were overshadowed by much more numerous "what should MS do/What should Sony do" threads/discussions.

You should have been more specific then. Not that it matters as I pointed it in the post you quoted it's still not an accurate statement. Forums that discussed gaming were not made yet during Snes time and even in public p2p discussions the topic of "what Nintendo should do to succede" was not a point of discussion in those days. Mainly because Snes was king with no real competition and there were no real "console wars" or competition in those days.

Yes we all know that great comercial, which didn't put a dent in snes sales. Or do you come from an alternate dimension where Sega outsold nintendo, ever? As I said there was no competition for Snes, there was no real discussion between which was better. Most people either just got Snes or got both. 

It was around but as I said there wern't really dedicated forums for that type of discussion then. I don't expect you to remember tho since you were 2 at the time..Also yes there was clever marketing by sega but there was no real competition and people really didn't give a shit like they do now.
