What I can't get my head around is how Sony haven't announced anything new yet. Why not promote a LBP + Singstar bundle for $350? Or a Far Cry 4 and/or GTA 5 bundle? They have the deals for these games amd publish some of them yet they've been going all Johnny Tightlips on us.

From what Phil Spencer said recently in an interview is that bundles are usually worked on almost a year in advance.  It isnt something they just put together. So my guess would be that Sony is the same way.

However there is rare instances i believe they can slap a quick bundle/promition together like Microsoft did with Xbox + one free game during the launch of destiny.  THat however isnt a designed bundle but more of a promotion.

MS should keep the X1 $50 cheaper than the PS4 no matter what for the next year or two. If you're going to play, play to win. They have the money to do so where it's not a big deal to them. Sony doesn't have the pockets to price match MS.

MS won't win in NA with a $50 cheaper price, also no Company on this planet do something to make you happy and lose money.

MS are just wasting money to save thier face in NA, and this is not good.  I know X fans feel better if PS4 does not crush XOne in NA for at least one month per year, but everybody should consider the fact XBox should make a profit, and selling better for a couple of weeks because of price-cut after a price cut is not a victory, but a defeat.  if you need to do all this to sell better for a couple of weeks in your own territory, it means you have A PROBLEM, A BIG PROBLEM.

Sony could perhaps try to capitalize in 2015. No doubt the Xbox One's sales will drop sharply if the price goes back up to $400 (MS may decide to make the price cut permanent, however).

Sony can still use their Price-Drop-Card whenever they feel the need. And 2015 may be the perfect time, should MS increase the Xbox's price back up.

This.

Sony are watching MS from the above, they can play their cards whenever they want.  Many here look at the micro micro vision(2 days, 1 week, 1 month), but you have to look at the macro vision, and MS now is the one with the water in the throat, playing all their cards.

technically XB1 is $100 cheaper than ps4 right? I see the Unity/Sunset bundles selling for $350 vs $450 for Destiny ps4 bundles.

MS is definitely throwing cash to get some XB1 sold, but the thing is, I think PS4 will still outsell XB1 for November and beyond. History is telling me, once you take a big lead in the console race, it is hard to fall behind.

A price cut causes a spike, how is this surprising? Some posters are getting way ahead of themselves.

No more surprising than a bundle with a hyped game causing a spike, but that was also hailed as the second coming in March.  I won't be at all surprised if these bundles drop off the top sellers without ever reaching the top 100 annual lists.

Where are the $250 deals? Got any links? Thats insane.

Trade in you last gen system and get an XB1 for $100 off at any microsoft store.

Nice. My boy can get his Xbone now for a cheaper price. Im going to tell him.

This has been a long stanbding offer, so this isn;t really much of a factor. People could have got a Xb one for $300 this way for the last several months, but it didn't stop PS4 from winning every single month up to now, including October (I have no doubt).

We are less than a week into a $50 price cut (Xb one's first genuine price cut) and a number of very attractive bundles. Why is anyone surprised, or much less worried, by what's happening?

There is no point in Sony reacting until they see what the longer term effect of the price cut is. And Sony only has so much adveertising money, so they need to time their advertising of bundles so that they have peak awareness when the bundles actually come out. Another week or so I think.

Yeah, this is way out of hand.  Where did this attitude go?

I just pointed out that amazon doesn't really tell you much (especcially not the hourly chartz!), and since amazon is the entire premise of this thread it is quite relevant.

Every hour we see a new post on what's beating what on Amazon... Meh... o.O

Yep, and as always its only relevant if people want it to be lol. It's an eternal cycle

Do we really need new threads for the hourly best sellers on amazon so often? o.O

Almost anything can hit the hourly best sellers. I'm sick of threads using it as an indicator.

Areym said:
Oh wow that is pretty goo...hourly.

And that attitude continued on for two weeks of the product in question sitting at the top 10, most of the time at the top 5.

And now suddenly, being in the top 15 for less than a week is cause for mass hysteria?

Lets call a spade a spade here and not beat around the bush. MS have basically given Black Friday type deals from the beginning of November. Reading through gaf people are literally getting X1 bundles for as little as $250.

Meanwhile SOny are offering (in the US) a Destiny bundle well past it's peak and a standalone bundle for launch price. Yes there are other  old bundles but they're not selling.

Consumers are now buying X1's in massive numbers and time will tell if these are people who were going to get it anyway but have jumped the gun since deals are so good now. Either way the fact is MS so far in nov are heavily outselling the PS4 and will likley do so for at least another week or two.

I know Sony can afford to lose Nov and even December but Jesus Christ they will make back a 50$ hit with PS Plus subscriptions and software sales. Case in point are the agressive Bundles that the EU have anounced. SCEA need to wake up or run the risk of losing all momentum.

So Sony: How's your mother?

Sony (so far), "Who says I have a mother".

Given the current situation, Sony has excellent sales but need money and MS has poor sales but plenty of money. That's why.
