He was correct, the XOne did matched the PS4 in sales for the past 5 weeks.


Oh?  you think so? he's been banging on quite a bit about how by January they'll be matched in overall sales in US.  I think he meant that it'll make it match overall. and again, we'll see.

I meant it will match if for a few months, the holiday season.

 

But I am extremely confident that the substantial increase in sales will drastically decrease the gap, I think it will be 0-200k by the end of January.

You're talking about the X1 needing to outsell the PS4 by 700-900k in December. That is totally unrealistic, especially when the X1 has less of a chance of winning December than November.

I think your XI projections are overly optimistic, because it would not only have to carry it's November momentum, but also gain momentum. If Sony does nothing and MS maintains, however, the gap will gradually decrease.

X1 is putting up a fight in the US, having extremely close to PS4 sales.

Don't forget that the US and UK are the only regions where the PS4 is not dominating, and X1 is being still very competitive.

Why would you need 4 controllers when most X1 games are focused on SP or competitive online MP?

There is christmas and new year, many people buy gifts etc, or just a new console for next year, new year resolutions or whatever.

It might not outsell the PS4 by 700k, but I believe 100k-200k is reasonable.
