Well judging by the trailer and it showing hit points and different HP gauges, pehaps there is some story/leveling up elements involved.

Kary, Lich, the Vampire, Astos the Dark Elf. Any of those probably would of been better thinking about it... and all were probaby humanoid enough.

Well if you haven't run into garland i'd be surprised if you'd playd the game at all. He's the first boss. Hence the choice of him is puzzling... I can't see him comparing to the other chars.

Oddly the FF game i'm looking most foward too since FF Tactics


 I was about 3 hours in. and been to about 3-4 towns, I'm an extremely slow RPG player and willing to stay in a area to level up before moving ahead.

Then I discovered I can play PS1 games on my PSP, so that's the end of my FF1 playing time. lol

You can't even get to the 2nd town in FF1 unless you beat Garland. He's the guy you save the Princess from. Then the king builds you a bridge. Hence why he's an odd choice. He's not even really the first boss so much as he is the Prologue boss. Since the story doesn't really seem to begin until they cross the bridge for the first time.

Eh... my opinion is still way in the "This probably won't end well" range. Hope I'm wrong, but I'm not expecting anything good out of this. I would love the opportunity to kick Sephiroth's annoying ass though.

hmm, maybe I have beaten him, because I remember whinning about the non-auto-regenerating magic points, as well as taking a boat around. *shrugs*.

Maybe Garland is a bad choice here, but I think they make it up by having Sephiroth there, I can't wait for an epic battle with him.

Yeah, so you can see why it's going to be a little weird having him running around going toe to toe with all these end bosses. Still I can understand why they went with him. Though there is a bit of a Dark Knight overload

Goblez vs Exdeath... didn't they look like nearly exactly the same? Big guys in menacing armor?

Edit: Ahhh Chaos will be making an apperance. That makes the Garland move more palatable. Aside from that it looks like they're just using every main character and main villian. Wonder if they'll have any room for more.

(Or did i miss the reveal of a non main character?)

well even though its technically chaos you fight...garland is kinda like the last boss battle since you have to fight him again. Im trying to remember how it all goes but chaos and garland are kinda the same thing right?

Chaos is Garland actually from what i remember. Which is what makes it weird. Light warriros kill Garland. Then Garland is ressurected as Chaos by the fiends and sent back 2000 years in time... so that he can create them... and send them to the future to cause havok.
