Well the focus of video games becomes the focus of hardware nerd (it's actually quit poisitive for some), i was an console warrior a long time ago, but recently i joined the PC master race for quite some times, it's fun, full of learning, and can open up my knowladge for quite good.

But know i am back playing console for the sake of time, and I am tired of configuring alot of thing with my games , from patch, updated (even Steam is not that good to be true), tired of always thingking upgrading ( honestly we become worried if my games will  look so good or not with my current spec and forget how to enjoy games not only for the graphic).

Thats why most PC gamer who really investing on PC is really enjoy the aspect of hardware, graphic enthusiast, and most of them are people doesn't satisfied with just simply gaming and for sure  have a lot of time to fix something for most of people is not that important (we can see how mod is the back bone of PC gaming now)

So for people who really enjoying gaming purely, most of them will choose console, but advance gamer who a bit mature, have a lot of times, money and effort , and curiosity, they will try to go to world of dedicated gaming PC.

6 years if you heavily investing on higher price spec, and it's actually quite risk, most of hardware is easy to become faulty, and later on become hard to upgrade some several part especially cpu (some new cpu require you to upgrade mother board and the result you have to build from basic again and defeat the purpose of cost saving money on upgrading.

Not to mention that most of the time you have to face some games that is not compatible with your current hardware direct X (lets blame Microsoft for this).

You can buy medium PC spec but it will defeat the purpose of gaming on PC because it's better to buy console on that kind of level, even so some medium pc is unable to achieve the same graphic level of console (Ubisoft Assassins Creed U and a lot will follow in the future)

Eh, $180 graphic cards are out to coincide with the PS4 / Xbox One which exceed their level of quality. So it's actually a fairly easy upgrade, it's just a little pricey. With A. Creed Unity, and a lot of other games, sub-requirement specs play the games just fine on med-high settings despite not hitting the requirements, I think companies like UbiSoft are just tired of getting shit for their engines not scaling better. After their games last year being accused of poor scaling, Watch_Dogs coming out gimped, etc; I'm thinking they're growing short on patience with their PC audience.

I have a RIG that can play most games released in the past year at Ultra and over 4K rez at maybe 30-40fps. I do not have a 4k monitor though, only just added the LG 21:9 34" monitor to my setup. But this set up is used primarily for work related stuff. And the only reason the hardwrae is that powerful is cause I practically get my compnents for free (long story).

I cannot disociate the idea of work from my PC. So much so that i don't even enjoy browsing in my PC room. Thats why I play exclusively on consoles. Then again, I don't even play that many games in a year. Maybe 7-12 games per year. I went through this phase where I was always tinkering with the ROM on my phone, like I did 4 years ago with te performance of the PC RIG I had at the time. It just got to this point, especially with the phone, where I realized I was spending more time flashing new ROms or zips or custom packs than actually using the phone. Kinda what made me stop gaming on PC too, it was sucking the fun outta gaming for me. I was spending more time "running" games than actually "playing" them. I know when it comes to tech I have a certain form of OCD. Consoles are like a form therapy for me.

Yeah, I hate gaming at a desk because it's too associated with work. I do use my PC with my projector in the living room though, Steam's Big Picture mode is fantastic. But then I'm not big into online FPS anymore and don't play a ton of strategy games, so it actually works out perfectly.

I still sink a ton of money into consoles, console games, pc equipment and pc games, but also don't play a whole lot of games. Though I do get suckered into those damn Steam sales and humble bundles, constantly.

My PC room is to far from the living room for me to connect the PC to my projector. I do have a small lenovo ideacentre minidesktop in my living room though. Its basically a remote reciever for XBMC (kodi) from the PC in my PC room and for light browsing on the projector screen. 

Haha at the steam sales, if there is one thing I like about PC gaming its that.

Steam sales more than make up for it overtime.

It's different form one people to another, i have a friend the one who persuaded me to gaming PC back then, what happen to him now he is more enjoying playing game on console then buying dedicated gaming PC. He was an anthusiast gamer who like a lot on becnhmarking and active every year upgrading and make his pc look badass. One of the reason know becuase he has small time for gaming and spend more time for working and familly. 

The same can be said for me,  and i dont want to spent my whole  f***ng time to think and configurate, fixing some bugs to just play a simple games.

I carry the pc over. It's a pain in the ass though, get behind the desk, disconnect a ton of cables. Then it sits akwardly in front of the AV cabinet. One time my kids were fooling around and knocked the thing flat over while it was running. I or rather they were lucky nothing broke.
It doesn't help removing the work stigma associated with it though. Same desktop boots up, infernal mail box, tax folders and all work related stuff sitting right there, only now 25 times bigger! Stuff of nightmares :p

pfft steam??? you can get it free  on Torrent LOl :D :D :D, seriously steam improved some area an indeed make gaming on pc more easy and cheeper then before (for some), but all come with price "lack of ownership "

and you need  a big capacity hard disk and fast internet speed for downloading, and  also come with price. While the same with console but most console owner is still preferring hard copy rather then having a soft copy on their possession. ( I guess that's the reason DRM will not work for some time on console)
