Yes, but I already thought that beforehand. WiiU's install-base will probably mostly consist of core Nintendo gamers. Most people will get Mario Kart, and it should have an extreme attach ratio. Most people will get the game, literally in this case. I expect attach ratio to be over 50%, which means WiiU need only sell 14m. That should be easily be done at the end of next year.

At close to 50% attach rate, Wii U is going to have to pick up the hardware sales to crack Double Dash's total any time soon. I expect once Wii U gets over 15 million it should have pretty much sold more than Double Dash. But at the rate Wii U is selling that's looking to be some time in 2016.

Of course... I never doubted the possibility of MK8 outselling Double Dash!

If we are talking about people with very bad opinions and/or the very immature who hate the thoughts of a game without blood in it, then yes. But "the gaming community" as a whole? NO WAY. That is a massive generalization.

Look at the sales then. The PS3 has been outselling it for weeks/months.

In what way does it make sense to make a determination that the Wii U has a bad repuatation because the PS3 is selling? This is like saying a minivan such as a Mazda 5 has a bad reputation because a Toyota Camry is outselling it. But yeah, whatever.

This has to be one of the dumbest answer I ever read on this website. 

It does make sense: a console which is getting less and less support is outselling a console which was initially released 2 years ago and is getting more and more big titles released. Why ? Because to the gaming community (and I'm not only talking about people on the internet, I'm talking about the people who buy consoles all around the world), the PS3 is more attractive. It's the same reason the PS4 is outselling the Xbox One and the WiiU as well, the vast majority of potential buyers think it's a better choice. 

Seriously, why did you even compared the console market to the car market ? It's amazing.
