1 month of Smash in the holiday season of 2014 will have just as much impact as the rest of the game's life. Zelda's system selling potential got watered down when Wind Waker HD and Hyrule Warriors released but it gets more watered down cause Nintendo opted out for not a very fond art style. Star Fox has lost a lot of it's popularity so it's nowhere near as strong as you think it is. Mario Maker will sell tons of more WII U's when three other mario games are already out there on the WII U ? Kirby ?! LOL, that franchise is getting more irrelevant with each passing day and the same goes for Yoshi ... What favours are these games going to do for the WII U when they have some troubles selling 1 million units on a bigger install base ?

You heard it here folks, an HD rerelease waters down a series' sales two years later. Halo 5 DOOMED.

The series like Star Fox and F-Zero don't need to be CoD sized successes to help the Wii U. Appeal to the fans that remember and haven't bought in yet. They need variety, name recognition, and to pull from a audience outside of Mario.

Halo is a bigger franchise than Zelda whether you like it or not so Halo MCC won't impact the gains from Halo 5 much ...

Your right that series don't need to be COD sized successful but Star Fox and F-Zero is becoming more irrelevant than ever before and I don't care how you feel about that ...

Are we really just gonna sit here ass pulling?

Nobody's ass pulling here ...

It's just that you can't come to terms with reality ...

You just tried to say that next year's Zelda sales would be less because it had an HD rerelease last year and a spinoff title. That's pretty top tier in the "Dumbest Sh*t Ever Said on Vgchartz" list.

Yeah, Halo appeals to the dudebros and thus has a bigger market, but that doesn't change the fact your argument is asspulled garbage. Besides, the series has been on the decline, changed devs, lost its title as biggest FPS game, and is on a less popular system. Do you think Halo 5 is going to be the best in the series, or even better than Halo 4?

Don't confuse a series inactivity for lack of interest. F-Zero and Star Fox are solid names, will likely sell ~1mil each, and thanks to Nintendo's recent Q&A will probably be cheap and quick to make without sacrificing much quality. They're low risk investments that represent an audience that hasn't been tapped into too much. How many Futuristic Arcade racers are there this gen? Space based rail shooters that appeal to furries? Must be tapped out by those similar games on PS4 and XB1 right?

If only there were some way to generate more interest in these titles as well...Like putting the faces of their respective franchises in Smash, the biggest game of its genre and the largest fighting game to date. Or including areas inspired by them into Mario Kart 8, currently the best selling racing game of the generation and traditionally an important franchise. It's a shame nobody thought of that...

Yes, I do believe the system selling power of the next Zelda will be reduced cause the HD rerelease along with a spin-off shows us that a minimum of 1 million Zelda fans are on there and to make things worse it's in an art style that less people like so deal with it ...

I don't think Halo 5 will be best in the series but it's still gonna be a big game that will go on to sell 8+ million copies compared to Zelda ...

There's a good reason why those games aren't being made anymore by Nintendo so there likely is no worthwhile audience for them anymore. FYI the remake of the best Star Fox in the series couldn't even sell a million copies ...

$300 is a lot for a piece of trash. For what the Wii U offers, it should have been $200 with a bundled game at launch. And even that is pushing it.

That'll happen when what should have been a peripheral device tacks on at least an extra 100$ to the build costs, and have overpriced PPC contracts with IBM. Had the console launched at <200$ with the pad as a side upgrade, tales of today would be at least a little different.

I wonder if the rumors on the new AMD PPC contracts will pan out as being for Nintendo.

That's an asspull.

I doubt Halo 5 will pull in 8mil+, I'll be surprised if it does 7mil. Halo 4 had a drop off of 3mil with its highest install base ever and it's coming much earlier in the life span of a less popular system. Regardless of what Zelda does, Halo is still on the decline.

And you're aware that remakes always sell far worse than the original right? What a terrible way to try and support your claim.

I actually believe paper mario will be the big title along with zelda in 2015 :)

Nintendo recently stated that they had sold 3.49m units of MK8 as of the end of September. (That's including digital and copies sold to retailers)

All this before its first Christmas season, and with DLC on the way to spur interest.

Mario Kart Double Dash topped out at 6.95m.

Do you think MK8 can top that by the time it stops selling? (Including digital sales)

It's more than halfway there already.

Asking the Question is answering it, the question is not IF, but when my guess would be september 2016 4.5 million after this holiday. 5.3 million at this time next year 6.3 million after next year's holiday. So about september 2016.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
