New IPs don't tend to do as well as established ones.

Like Naughty dogs new IPs?

Of course there are exceptions.

To the people defending this, do you really think the spin-offs won't be from Mario,Kirby, Zelda, Donkey Kong universe, etc. Of course they will. They've been doing spin offs since forever.

"There is only one race, the pathetic begging race"

They've hinted heavily at a game set in the Metroid universe but based around other bounty hunters (like they introduced in the Hunters game). I think that's well into development and is one of the games Miyamoto is referring to.

I just hope they're something bigger and more ambitious than Hyrule Warriors... Wasn't a big fan of that.

I'm so excited for Steel Diver Tri: The Bombastic Escape to Antarctica.

It probably means Nintendo has more games being produced by outside developers. Too bad Amusement Vision isn't still around. I'd love for them to develop a F-Zero GX sequel.

Well we know a few

Hyrule Warriors
Pokken Fighters Tournament
SMT x Fire Emblem
Captain Toad

Other possibilities (hinted at or rumored):

Diddy Kong Racing
Metroid Hunters spin-off (?)
Star Fox characters in Project: Giant Robot and Project: Guard?

Does Kirby and the Rainbow Curse count as a spinoff?

Captain Toad

Captain Toad is EAD.

Some people seem to forget that even on the Wii Nintendo had plenty new IPs, like Xenoblade, Disaster Day of Crisis, Pandoras Tower, Hyroventure, The Last Story etc. etc. and reborn old IPs like Sin&Punishment, Punch Out, Battalion Wars.

Nintendo has never been shy of new IPs. In fact last gen there was hardly another publisher with so many new IPs.
